I have written and erased so many lines because everything just hasn't captured how wonderful this place is. My partner and I stayed here when we went to Hakuba upon a recommendation from a family member. The hosts were so inviting and warm, by the end of our 4 day trip we felt like family. They arrange transport from the...

I loved my stay at Windy Lodge. Shozo, Akira & Mieko (and their dogs) were lovely and made us feel very welcome and at home. The lodge is a bit dated inside, but the rooms are comfortable, clean and warm. Very close to Sakka lift which is great for getting up on Happo One. Bus stops either next door or...

The room was dated but did the job. We had our own bathroom which was very basic. Pillows were not comfortable I used a blanket instead. It was fine though and would stay again. The rooms were not cleaned every day which wasn't a big issue for me either. The hallway was pretty loud and you could hear people stamping...

We stayed there for 7 nights and ate in the restaurant 3 times. Very comfortable twin room with good amenities. Short walk to the Saka ski lift or bus stop if you wish to visit a different resort. The hosts and staff can't do enough for you. Good English spoken so communication no problem. Excellent meals in the restaurant.

Windy lodge is perfectly located and had everything you need for a great ski holiday in Hakuba. The rooms are warm and comfortable and the owners were very friendly. We had a room with an ensuite and our friends used the share bathrooms, but being such a small lodge, you never had to wait to use the bathrooms. There are...

Stayed here for 3 nights during our visit to Hakuba. The staff here are friendly and made us feel very welcome. Language wasn't a barrier as everybody understood and spoke good English. There were 4 of us staying in an ensuite room. Beds were comfortable and well insulated. Only gripe was that the ensuite toilet was quite cold and wasn't...

We stayed here for 9 nights (Dec 2014) while skiing in the Hakuba area. The lodge owners and staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave advice on ski slopes, ski passes, onsens, drove us to our dinners and also helped with making dinner reservations. The whole atmosphere is like a homestay and having stayed at many home-style B&Bs, Windy...

Staff is super friendly and helpful! They helped us figure out how to ski, get massages, and see the snow monkeys. They offered up sleds and fun with puppies for our kids. They picked us up from the bus station and delivered us downtown. Walking distance to skiing and to the shuttle bus for downtown. Laundry machines and hot bath...

Staff were great and very helpful at windy lodge, rooms were nice but basic. There was a cozy common room to read the newspaper, and there was also free WiFi. Windy lodge also has a restaurant which you can go to where they cook delicious meals and also give you your meat raw so you can have a hands-on experience...

I have never been to a hotel where the owners are so involved with their guests, there is nothing that they won't do for anyone. The Lodge itself is pretty basic but has everything you need. All the staff are very friendly and help organise anything you may want to do. They take you to and from any where in...
