Words fall short sometimes when you try to review a place like Kanha Jungle Lodge. The lodge is very close to Mukki zone of Kanha Tiger Reserve. And please keep in mind they have a long tradition in conservation of wildlife and specially, tigers. The property belongs to family of Padmasree Kailash Sankhala ji who was the first director of Project Tiger. The hospitality business here intertwined with the great passion for wildlife conservation. So this property is a perfect blend of sustainability and luxury. The cottages are nested inside a large sal forest with minimal interruption to the ecology of the forest area. Lots of birds and insects coexist here. And Mr. and Mrs. Bhatti- who manage the property are excellent naturalists. They will help you to explore the area booming with biodiversity of different types of insects and birds beside formal gypsy safari in kanha national park area. They are the real gem of that place. Mrs Bhatti is the author of few books on butterflies and insects. She accompanied us in a night walk to explore the secrets of nature at dark hours. We learned many things on insects and forest ecosystem from her. Though their 15 years old son Jai was not present at the time of our visit this week, but it was great to know that he is already a passionate expert on wildlife and nature, featured in many international documentaries.Wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Banjar river is just 200-300 meters walk form this property. The river is so charming and lovely, imparts a new dimension to the beautiful landscape of kanha forest. You don't need a swimming pool when you have such a lovely river to take a bath in the wild. Lodge staffs will guide you to explore the river and riverside. Can't forget the riverside evening snacks and breakfasts, arranged by KJL. Their amazing hospitality starts form the first inquiry phone call to the manager-Mr. Tarun Bhatti. He is such a humble and decent gentleman, always ready to help you in all possible ways. Mrs. Dimple Bhatti is a gem of a person. Always there with a smiling face to make the stay comfortable for her guests. From the moment you step off your vehicle, till the very end, her smile and kind behaviour made our stay memorable. The rooms are fantastic with beautiful outdoor sitting areas, the fooding is out of the world. The chef Mr. Raghu Yadav is a magician. The thatched dining area is so well decorated. They arrange lunch and dinners even in forest areas within their property with excellent decoration. Mrs Bhatti took special interest to help us in celebrating our daughter's 3rd birthday cake cutting ceremony in candle light, under a starry sky. All the staffs are such well behaved and polite, a rarity nowadays. The most important thing is they are all from adjacent villages, so the lodge is supporting the local economy and in a way helping the preservation of forest. Don't forget to take few bird watching nature walks and safaris with Mr Vinod- an extremely knowledgeable guide and naturalist. He accompanied us in all the safaris , nature walks and the sundowner trip to the tribal village. They also have an amazing collection of books on wildlife. We were completely touched with the place, the people running the property. Would love to visit again and again. Strongly recommended for all true travelers and nature lovers.

I really loved Kanha jungle lodge, it’s a beautiful resort blended with naturally developed forest. Staff here is really friendly, they treated us in a very friendly obedient manner. Food here Is very excellent, I didn’t had to think about what to order. The food menu was very well balanced between protein carbs and fibre by the owner in a smart way. After few days I stopped giving me suggestions and started trusting their selection. I am looking forward for my next visit

Our stay at the Kanha forest Lodge during the Animal Communication Workshop was very comfortable! Tarun Dimple and their son were excellent hosts and took care of us like family! When we would return hot from safaris or treks the lemonade coolers n ice teas were waiting for us and even sandwiches packed for the long rides. The space that they have created outdoors and indoors is truly beautiful and nurturing and supported our journey inward! Perfect getaway for families and friends!!

We stayed here for 4 days and it was a much needed break after the pandemic had eased out. We reached the resort at night after 8pm. The entrance for the resort was no where to be seen except 2 lights marking the gate. It was as if we were right in the middle of a jungle! As we went, lanterns showed us the way in from the car park to the common area and we were welcomed by the warm smile of Ms Dimple Bhati, the owner. Once inside, the jungle opened up to a area where we had our cozy cottages. There was a slight drizzle and the bonfire looked very inviting after a long day. We freshened up and had a wholesome dinner by the bonfire. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The all eco friendly things in the room was indeed very special. The common area was very aesthetically pleasing with few decorative items, different types of seatings in beautiful colors, books on wildlife, few games and toys, a small bar, a information board, a small souvenir shop and the bonfire. One could feel that all things were well thought of and housed everything that one would need. We were given hot water bags every day before setting out for the morning safari and before retiring to bed. It was much needed as it was cold and it really warmed our heart. The warm towels after returning from safaris also felt so refreshing. The food used to be very tasty with a good spread and thoughtfully planned. We used to have lunches and dinners at different locations in the property including a candle light and bush dinner. Breakfast was also nicely packed for our morning safaris and the joy of enjoying the same in the midst of the jungle was unparalleled. Hats off to the cook who used to get this ready in the wee hours of the morning. No dishes were ever repeated during our entire stay and I still miss the wide variety of welcome drinks! The resort had well trained naturalists (Vinod and Mukesh) who knew the jungle like their very own backyard. We used to have a great time chatting with them and listening to all their experiences. The nature walk in the property (with Supriya) was truly an eye opener and made us realize how everything co-exists. Ms. Dimple and her family esp. her son are true wildlife lovers who spend their time studying even the miniature insects. They love interacting with the guests and make you feel at home. A place that is 100% recommended and I'm myself waiting to return 😇
