We stayed at Chitvan for 3 nights. The hotel is exceptional. The rooms are massive, super clean and with firm mattresses. Ours had a lovely view, a separate seating area, dressing room and huge outdoor balcony. The service is exceptional and employs the local villagers. The hotel ensures at all times you have everything you need, and more. We had complimentary breakfast boxes packed each day for our game drive, and even a goodie box packed full of food for our travels. I found the food on the mild side in the restaurant; that was quickly remedied with the chef treating me to special spicy dishes. The pool and gardens are lovely too. The game viewing at Kanha was fantastic and we had an awesome tiger viewing experience up close. We were fortunate to meet with Guide Baishakhu Singh Dhurwey and Driver of Jeep 207 who gave us the most memorable tiger viewing experience. It was our fifth game drive and Baishakhu is the most knowledgeable guide we experienced and will ensure you see tiger! If you book a private jeep safari be sure to book him. We will definitely be back. Thankyou Chitvan Team!

This was a not to be missed experience. We arrived mid afternoon after an absorbing 4.5hrs taxi transfer from Raipur and were greeted by members of staff who made every effort to make us welcome. What followed over the next two days was simply unbelieveable. Early morning safari through the Mukki Gate and into the Kanha National Park and we spotted our first tiger within a couple of hours. Chitvan had sorted the guide and the driver - all we had to do was get up at 5.45am! We had three more safaris and they were all fabulous with a variety of wildlife and more tigers. Accomodation in the cottages was excellent, given the location, with a huge bathroom, air-con and jungle views from the window. We slept like logs after long days in the fresh air. The food throughout our stay was superb with the staff attending to our every need and requirement. The place itself was a haven of serenity and peace and we could have spent another few days just relaxing around the grounds and the pool after the excotement of the two days of safari. Nothing was too much for the staff and management and we were treated like royalty throughout. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a tiger safari experience or just a few days of rest and relaxation.

I've stayed 3 nights at Chitvan as part of an organized safari tour and it was just the perfect location. Peaceful and quiet with the view towards the jungle. The room was more like a small apartment, with a large comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and two lovely areas to sit and have tea or lunch. Everything was clean and the rooms kept the temperature nicely during the night, so I was not freezing even in early December. The staff from the whole lodge was super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. I especially the garden-grown vegetables served with every meal. I totall want to go back on my next visit to India and total recommend the lodge when going for a safari holiday.

Plus points: very friendly and helpful staff Room well equipped Buffet was served at lunch and dinner Gin & tonic about £3 Minus points: went for tiger safari, but no tigers to be seen, despite bouncing around in jeeps in two different park zones for 9 hours. Guides a bit useless Road to lodge is awful So overall waste of money and not recommended

The property is incredibly beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and the food was great. But the USP of this place is the hospitality. We travelled as a group of 20 and throughout our 4 days, the service and hospitality was impeccable. The staff was friendly, courteous, prompt and helpful. If you are planning to visit Kanha, this is definitely the best choice. What's more? Chitvan is close to the Mukki gate and zone, which is the best zone to visit to sight tigers and other wildlife.

Our family of four stayed for four nights in the Jal cottages at the Chitvan Jungle Lodge. The hotel was really good with spacious rooms, very good food, great service and excellent organisation. The rooms had a/c. Morning safaris in Kanha National Park left the hotel at 5.30am and at that time we needed the provided blankets and hot water bottles. It warmed up by mid morning and we were in T shirts by the end at 11.30am. Buffet lunch started at 12.30pm and the afternoon safari started at 2.30pm. The lodge is 4km from the park gate, which was fine for us. We were accompanied on our game drivers by a naturalist from Chitvan and a guide supplied by the Park. The guide changed every drive, but our naturalist, Ashuu, was with us for our whole stay. He was knowledgable and really good. It is quite hard to see tigers at Kanha on November, but the park itself is beautiful and relaxing. We saw three tigers over the course of our seven drives. Including a superb viewing.

This is a lovely resort and the management have gone out of their way to make it welcoming. The tiger fabrics in the room were a nice touch and there was a huge shower room outside and a patio area to relax in. The food was rather basic but ok. My overriding memory however is of how cold it is in this area. You will need to have a heavy padded jacket or at least a very thick fleece to keep on whilst having dinner - and a woolly hat. Thank goodness my room had a small heater provided. I kept it on all the time so the room stayed warm.

This was the second leg of our Indian safari trip. We stayed here for 3 nights and were made to feel very welcome. The lodge was situated further up the hills in Kanha and we had to travel through a lovely wee village where happy locals waved at us as we passed through. It was a dusty and bumpy road but the scenery was amazing. The lodge had a lovely bridge over an pond to pass over to get to the lobby. It was spacious and had Wi-Fi. We then went outside to get to the dining area which again was spacious and had two big long tables for our group. There was smaller tables further in for other guests. The rooms were wee cottages that were down a path. Our room was further away down the path and was larger. Our building had 2 rooms and was connected to another that was similar. We had to walk up,steps to get to ours and it meant the balcony had a nicer view as it sat out into the trees. Room was spacious and had a bathroom and shower connected. The decor was the best I’ve ever seen in a room as the bedding, curtains and cushions all matched and were of tigers. The room also had a fridge, kettle, hairdryer and plenty of storage space. The food was top notch. It was a Buffett selection of Indian food and was different every day. They used vegetables from their own garden so it was very fresh food. A drinks menu was provided and prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly and had excellent manners. They couldn’t do enough to help you. They worked very hard and we’re very respectful. Anytime we passed by they stood up as a mark of respect. There was a large pool area that got the sun all day. Plenty of beds to lie on and surrounded by beautiful trees and landscape. The safari park was close by and only a 10 minute drive. It’s cold in the morning being in the mountains but warmed up through tour morning. I would definitely stay here again. It was an amazing part of our trip

The staff were amazing; very attentive and polite. The food was delicious! There was a wide choice of food, with vegetables grown in the garden. My husband mentioned that he likes aubergine, so they made an aubergine curry especially for him. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. In particular I would like to mention how kind and caring the staff were when I fell and hurt my wrist. They went out of their way to make sure I was looked after. We would go back tomorrow if we could!
