What a beautiful lodge near Mukki gate of Kanha. The place is beautiful with a restaurant that serves mouth watering food. The rooms are good however for the price we pay, should be a little better. Need a bit of renovation. However what makes up for it is the service. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This place grows tons of veggies in its own premises. The naturalist teamis also very good and knowledgeable. The kitchen staff along with the reception staff are equally helpful. It has a very awesome poolside where you can enjoy high tea. And the fireflies at night put up a show which you should not miss. All in all, a place worth visiting!

The rooms at Chitvan Jungle Lodge are large and well appointed. The disappointment was in the high oil and masala food quality that was served every day. Here too, like all other places we were staying, I had advance intimated our desire for low oil/low masala dishes. Alas….it fell only on deaf ears. The team was going around doing their chore as a matter of fact with no zing or enthusiasm. Rohit made the feeble effort but gave up soon every time….maybe the long hiatus during Covid had sapped them out.

Three of us friends stayed there from Dec 2-4, 2021. The best part of the resort is their service. The staff are well trained and look into minutest details. Chef makes a note of each of our culinary preferences and sees to that we are all satisfied. The safaris are well managed. The resident naturalist who accompanied us for 4 safaris, Mohammed Alam Khan was exceptional. Not only was he extremely good at tracking animals and birds, he saw to that we were comfortable throughout; even providing a separate blanket to cover my birding lens from dust ! Kudos to the whole team . Would love to go back there .

Nice resort at the border of the core zone.We were in a group of 8 families and stayed in Jal cottage it was nice and decent rooms neat and clean lenin was also good makes us feel homely.Property is old and makes us feel that we are living in jungle.Bathrooms needs to be mordenise little bit as I think. We had a safari next morning and they had provide beautifully packed breakfast in the jungle with the perfect set up 5 star to that. They have also taken care by giving blankets in the safari to keeps us warm.Mr Rohit and mahesh and the entire staff from bell boy to restaurant staff were always prompt to help us. Chef also have tried to make all the things we have demanded.Aproch to the resort from main road is about 3-4 kms which is kaccha road but it is motarable.I recommend this resort to all you will get a pleasant stay.

Everything about our 3 night stay at Chitvan Jungle Lodge deserves a thumbs up, right from the resort itself, with it's beautiful gardens, spacious rooms, the greenery you see out of the window, the restaurant ambiance, service and food quality. The staff are all from the local area and are a well knit team who provide excellent service. Special shoutout to Surendra Ji, the Restaurant Manager, for all his efforts to serve us the best vegetarian food we've had while on a forest expedition. Having travelled to numerous forests pan India, Kanha is definitely up there with the best. The fact that the resort is located so close to Mukki gate, made it so easy for us to make it into the forest early and have a higher chance of seeing Tigers. The entire safari experience was planned and executed to perfection by the team, and Mahesh Bhai, the Naturalist, in particular played a big role in this experience. He arranged the booking of Tatkal/Current Safaris for the 2 afternoons where we could not get an early permit, and his natural ability, sharpness and skill to put us in the right place at the right time for the best tiger sighting is highly commendable! Thank you to the entire team!

We are a french and indian group and we stayed for 2 days, 1 night. The place is beautiful, the rooms spacious, the welcoming super nice, the staff is very professional. It's a little paradise in nature with a clean swimming pool. I would like to congrats the kitchen team and the chef. We had very nice lunch and dinner !! Moreover, the trip in safari were fabulous, we had the chance to see one tigress with a naturalist that explained us a lot and shared his passion ! We will definitely come back there !

‘Chit’ means Mind / Soul and ‘Van’ means forest thus Chitvan translating into ‘Where the Mind / Soul meets the Forest’. The Chitvan Jungle Lodge reverberates this Ethos completely. A small 20-21 room (cottage & suites) abode at a distance of 3.5 kms from the Mukki Gate of The Kanha National Park, welcomes you with open arms to enjoy a simple and peaceful living. The property is perfectly planned with a rustic and arid look giving a feel of a forest living. Beautiful decor and aesthetic make it a ideal vacation place with no / limited access to the worldly things like TV, mobile network, WiFi thus allowing tryst with self, family and the ever so beautiful forest called Kanha. The staff were very friendly and the word ‘No’ did not exist in their dictionary. The whole experience was made memorable with the lovely cuisines - beautifully curated to provide a gastronomical delight. Few initiatives like moon lit dinner on roof top made our stay simply WoW. Amenities like the swimming pool, fully loaded library, vegetation plantations, board games ensured we could spend time together when not on safaris. Worth appreciation include key staff members: Surendra Ji - Resturant Manager Rakesh Ji - Chief Chef Mahesh Ji - Property in charge Now coming to the Safaris - the same was planned much in advance to ensure no last minute issues. The hotel and booking team provided all necessary support (including some last minute changes as well). While the jungle itself is beautiful providing a visual delight with its diverse flora, fauna and wildlife, the experience was personified with the presence of our Naturalists - Naren Ji and Mahesh Ji (both having over a decade of experience and Naren Ji himself being an avid safari traveller and photographer). Much to our delight they made our Safari journeys even more memorable. Overall to summarise - An experience worth witnessing again. Thank you Team Chitvan !!!!

We stayed at this property for 4n. The location is perfect; though a little inside from main road. The property, food, staff and naturalist provided by the hotel are excellent. If would highly recommend to take Naren or Mahesh for the safaris; while you pay a little more then the normal rate, it is this additional amount which makes the whole difference in spotting the tiger and the overall experience. Food is exceptional and the fact that hotel has its own garden lot of the food we ate was very fresh and organic. The head chef, Ajay was exceptional and you can feel the attention to detail in the food they served us. Overall, a hidden gem and definitely value for money. Look forward to many more visits to Kanha and saying at this property.

Absolutely loved our stay at Chitvan. Such a beautiful property, and lovely spacious rooms so nicely done up. We stayed in Mahasagar. Food was just excellent - north indian, very yummy and fresh. Good variety. Naans were too good. Even high tea snacks were super. Mr. Naren Malik - manager and resident naturalist- is an excellent host. Very responsible with warmt, attention to detail. He took us for our 4 safaris in kanha, such a great guide, true nature lover. We went in Chitvan jeep which was so comfortable. They packed us a lovely breakfast as well. Property is so close to Mukki Gate. Wifi only works in lobby. Really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back with family.
