Lovely warm welcome and stylish smart rooms. The beds are very comfy with good quality linens. The bathrooms are spotless and up to date. Food is superb and wine list very affordable. Great place to stay near Ludlow. Try the sea bass with mushrooms with marmalade ice cream for pud- You will not regret it.

The Talbot Inn is a gem. Our room, on the first floor, was large and airy, decorated with a few period pieces of furniture, a small tv and a spacious modern bathroom with separate shower and bath. The room was quiet, although the view of a fire escape was not the best we only saw it when we drew the...

We had never eaten here before although we had been past it many times - our loss. The atmosphere inside was lovely - with many reminders of the brewing history, smell of a lovely wooden fire and a menu to reflect local food. My daughter, a vegetarian had the home made soup and my sister and I the lunch special...

Popped in for a birthday treat, on a wet and miserable Monday lunchtime. Inside was far from miserable though! Snug log burners and a bright, not over fussy interior. Menu was interesting and the food a real delight, the chefs know what they are doing here. Already planning a Saturday evening here shortly!

Like the previous reviewer this was booked via Secret Escapes and I am not sure we would have found it without it being on that site but we are really glad we did. The place is a real hidden gem and everything about our stay was superb. We were greeted on arrival by Barnaby and taken to a lovely and...

Recently stayed at the Talbot for one night, it was a Secret Escapes offer. Very often when staying on an offer tend to be treated as second class citizens, not at the Talbot. Arrived around 1.15pm room was ready greeted with a smile and taken to our room. The room was of a good size, very clean, the bathroom was...

I have been visiting this restaurant regularly for three or four years and find it the best of its style in the area. First is the food which is rather special: not heaving great plates with gravy (although I'm sure it could be provided) but very tasteful, discriminating food with good and often original ingredients which will appeal to people...

Looked at another venue but discarded as didn’t serve food on a Sunday evening. Bit hard on guests. This was just for the one night and as very reasonable rate I didn’t think expectations would be exceeded but exceeded they were. Tastly furnished room and huge bathroom - very clean and well presented. Food was superb, Herefordshire beef and Sea...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Talbot Inn is an iconic 19th century building located in the stunning Teme valley. Sympathetically restored by its current owners, the building encapsulates an eclectic mix of tradition and rustic charm to provide a very comfortable but informal interior. The seven bedrooms are all designed with individual pieces of furniture and soft furnishings along with stone en suite bathrooms fitted with high quality over head showers (some baths as well). Our food is modern British in style and very much favours the abundance of superb fresh produce available in our local farming area. ... more   less
