fresh breeze from the mabira forest, cool ambiance, hospitable staff, fresh breakfast as well as mouth watering buffets. Its one place you need to visit while in Uganda. Along the route there are people stationed with grilled chicken, plantain etc

We wanted a peaceful place to relax during the holidays that wasn't too far from Kampala. The RainForest Lodge in Mabira was perfect. The hotel is extremely relaxing, each room is secluded and has its own private balcony looking out into the rainforest. The staff is kind and relaxed at the hotel. We went on a nature walk and even... More

I liked this lodge because it is well embedded in the nature of Mabira Forest. Birds and especially monkeys were all over the cottage. I really liked the cottages because of the typical materials used for construction, like commercial timber, the nice atmosphere inside, nice decorations, the number of windows which allow best experience and nice veranda. The restaurant building... More

Very nice and quite place just in the middle of the dark rainforest of mabira. Although very expensive for average travelers. I think the prices are decided to keep this place only for a certain class of travelers. Sometimes one can feel very alone as cottages are widely spread and distance between cottages is more. It is good for people... More

This past weekend my friends-for-life Sebidde & Solomon and I smile emoticon took a short weekend ‪#‎getaway‬ and landed at the very impressive Rainforest Lodge located in Mabira Forest Reserve, a short drive between Kampala and Jinja in ‪#‎Uganda‬. We arrived late in the evening. I was full of excitement to wake up and step out to my room’s balcony... More

It was a while since I last stayed at the RainForest Lodge in Mabira and on arrival I asked myself WHY ... yes, why had I not come back earlier, considering that the lodge, set deep inside the Mabira rainforest, is just over 60 kilometres away from the city. The trip in April was to fill a gap in a... More

Nestled at the heart of a vast pristine tropical forest that is over 40 kilometers from the hustle and hustle of Kampala city, this holiday sanctuary captures every aspect of a forest home from an array of wildlife-especially monkeys and birds to an endearing staff treatment that leaves one feeling like a celebrity. When visiting her in mid-March to celebrate... More

We stayed here for the valentine's weekend and had a great time. As it was valentine's, there was a special discounted cost of $200,which felt about right. Also because of valentine's, we were met by roses and chocolates in our room, which was a lovely touch. The room itself was great: large comfy bed, balcony with seats, good bathroom (curious,... This was my second attempt at staying here. The first was frustrated by the place not being ready for use when we arrived despite being booked and paid for. Second time lucky. We have stayed at other Geo Lodge properties, Nile Safari and Jacana, in the past so knew the brand and wished to try Rainforest for the birding. In... More

“By virtue of their location at the heart of the pristine forest, all the 10 cottages have an edge when it comes to views. However, cottage 10 is full of surprises as it is at the spot that is a favourite for a variety of bird species.”
