Our family of 8 planned our road trip to Cape Breton not knowing how best to travel around or what accommodations we could expect. We decided to use Cabot Shores as our base for the week. It could not have worked out better for us! We wanted to make sure we had enough space for everyone and Paul set us...

Greetings Cindy, thanks for writing; we're so glad you and your family had such a great time here! Cabot Shores is indeed a good base for exploring the Cabot Trail, as anything along the Trail can be done as a day trip, after which one can return to the comfort of our chalets, yurts, or lodge (and Bistro, if you...

We spent four nights here in August 2014 and really enjoyed it. Wouldn't call it inexpensive, but it is in such a wonderful location - check it out on Google maps because it's hard to explain - but it has a large stream on one side of the property and faces a lake. On the other side of the lake...

When you arrive at Cabot Shores, you are immediately greeted like family, but like family that knows you well. They know just when to bring you into the fold and when to leave you to your own devices. Dr. Paul's walk to a magical waterfall was enlightening and invigorating, while Barbara's loving hand was felt through her wonderful food and...

We are gratified that you and your husband enjoyed all that Cabot Shores has to offer and that you both felt warmly welcomed into the fold while also being able to enjoy privacy and space to fully take in the surroundings and setting. The owners are super friendly and invited us to come when they were hosting a music festival. So, we brought our instruments and my husband got to jam with some of the excellent musicians who also stayed at the lodge. The property is located right on the river with the ocean beyond and the view is spectacular. Nearby or on...

Hi there, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. We were delighted you joined us for the Acoustic Festival and that your husband was able to join the jam sessions. Having guests and festival attendees participate in the music-making is exactly what we envisioned. It was a pleasure having you here; we're so glad we were part of your Cabot...

We stumbled on this place because it was listed on the Nova Scotia guidebook as a campground for seasonal campers. We only wanted a one night stay for our RV so I asked the owner Paul Weinberg if it was possible. He charged me $35 plus taxes than showed me to a space near his driveway with no water and...

Hi there, unfortunate that your expectations did not match what we have to offer. We are not primarily a RV campground. We are a specialty lodging accommodation with chalets, a comfortable lodge, plus yurts and campsites for tents catering to more adventurous travelers. On occasion, we provide a stay for RVs with a clear explanation of the amenities available and...

My girlfriend, son and I stayed in the large red yurt for two nights in late August. The yurt had two beds, a few foot stools, a table, a couch, a small dresser, a couple flashlights (you'll need them), a bottle of water, and a wood stove in the middle of the yurt. The deck was a good size for...

Hi Brent, we are so happy you joined us for a stay in our largest yurt (red). It's one of our most popular offerings, and we think the hot tub you rented is also a prime experience as you get to look out at the brook and ocean, and at the stars if you do it at night as you...

We had ridden around 50 miles and were ready to stop for the day. Fortunately we rode by the Cabot Shores entrance and decided to see what was there. What we found was a beautiful hideaway nestled between a river, freshwater ponds and the ocean. Quite spectacular. We stayed the night in the cedar yurt only planning on staying one...

Hello! We remember well the evening you arrived at Cabot Shores and showing you the cedar yurt. So happy you found us and furthermore that you extended your stay. This was our first time staying in a yurt and it was a great experience. We stayed in the red yurt which was huge. Hi Ken, So glad you had such an enjoyable stay with us. Yes, the red yurt is great for families who want a bit more adventure yet aren't up for totally roughing it, and as you said we can outfit it to be comfortable for kids, too. You were one of the first to use the brand new restroom and...

What a stunning place. There's a river, emptying in to the ocean with a pebble beach right on sight. It's just stunning. We stayed in the yurt which was cool, and enjoyed our time here. This is an odd place. We stayed in a traditional room in the lodge and the room was the least adequate we has during our 9 say trip. Construction seems cheap. The dinner was fine.
