Really enjoyed our short break in this very welcoming Hotel (only one night unfortunately!). We had a dog-friendly double room on the ground floor which was surprisingly spacious...lots of room for both of us plus the pooch. Very comfy bed and the hot drinks tray was excellant with a real cafetierre for the morning coffee. Fruit bowl a nice touch...

Stayed here for two nights for my 50th, had the 8 course taster menu on Friday night, really good and unusual dishes, staff were fantastic and we had a great weekend. Saturday evenings dishes were also great and large portions.

2 nights B&B with 1 tasting dinner for £159 was excellent value but we did end up paying another £200 for extras. We stayed in the main hotel which was the cheapest option and perfectly quiet and comfortable. Dinner excellent. Would go again.

Excellently appointed room with nice welcoming touches e.g. complimentary fruit bowl. We had the special deal with 8 course tasting menu, and the food was truly scrumptious! Excellent attentive service in a nicely placed restaurant with dishes presented that all "hit the spot" - we probably wouldn't have ordered any dish individually, but were glad to have sampled all of...

I have just returned from a very pleasant stay at this friendly and welcoming hotel. The owners and all of their staff made you feel very welcome and were most helpful. Our first night included an 8 course taster menu. This far exceeded our expectations. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We knew then to eat in the...

We stayed two nights here as I was visiting family in the area. It was and absolute joy to be here, the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and very friendly, the room was comfortable with little extras that added to the cosy atmosphere (the room was a bit small but it wasn't a problem for two nights), the surroundings...

This was a fab hotel. We stayed in one of the Lodges and it was beautiful. A big room, big bathroom and everything out could need. The food was fantastic. The staff were great. Great area with lots of historical sites to see. We also did observatory night at hotel and it was great. Saw lots of shooting stars.

We booked through a direct offer £159 for 2 nights b&b 8 course tasting menu plus £20 extra for observatory tickets. We had a bit of delay booking and it took 3 days to get confirmation but we were pleasantly suprised they'd put us in a lodge which should've been an extra £30 a night. On the day we were...

This is an attractive village inn/hotel with a comfortable lounge bar and large restaurant. The lodge accommodation is huge with luxury en-suite. The food was very good and the staff well trained and attentive. It is perhaps not fine dining but they are not charging fine dining prices and overall we had excellent value for money. Our only criticism is...

we went as many people go on a Travelzoo special offer. The taster menu was out of this world and the chef is to be congratulated for his unusual mix of ingredients. We had a minor plumbing problem in our room on arrival in that the thermostat could not be turned down. To our amazement a plumber was found who...
