Rooms were a little tired, but I understand a decoration programme is underway. However from the moment we arrived the service was brilliant. We had the 8 course taster menu & it was absolutely faultless. We had the normal menu on night 2 and that was also brilliant in fact I would go as far as to say michelin star...

We had a fabulous weekend stay in one of Battlesteads Lodges. Really couldn't fault our whole stay. Food was delicious, especially the 8 course tasting dinner with matched wines, staff were impeccable and our lodge was just lovely. The jacuzzi bath after a day walking was perfect. Would highly recommend and we'll be returning in the spring.

Ideal for a dinner bed and breakfast break combined with walking in lovely countryside. The room and bathroom were not luxurious but were very clean and perfectly adequate as we spent very little time there. Instead we sat on comfortable leather settees by the fire, reading and enjoying a drink, followed by a very good meal (with veggie options, not...

Stayed in bedroom number 15 for dinner, bed and breakfast with husband on a Saturday night. Our room was very nice, very comfortable bed, lovely and warm (it was chilly outside) and excellent bathroom. Sofa was an unexpected surprise as was the proper coffee. Corridors were slightly confusing and perhaps a sign or two more would have been useful for...

We stayed two nights at Battlesteads enjoying the 8 course taster menu on our first night, a wonderful experience. We stayed in room 11 with our dog and were supplied with a warm doggy blanket, towel, and treats. The hotel is a great village hotel, with much more, amazing flower gardens, etc. Four real ales were available and a good...

Visited Battlesteads with our friends for our annual weekend break and the hotel, food (thank you Eddie!, service in the restaurant (beautifully run as ever Dee)) and ambiance as good as ever. However when we arrived, having previously requested and received e-mail confirmation of rooms 6 & 7 in February, we were informed that as regular guests we would be...

Had an excellent 3 day break in this lovely hotel. We booked a ground floor room with a super King size bed and a walk in shower. Room 13 provided all of our needs plus fresh fruit too. The food served in the restaurant from breakfast, 8 course taster dinner and food from the a la carte was excellent. The...

Came here for a few days break - what a lovely place to be. The hotel was charming, the staff very kind and welcoming, the food excellent. Wark looks like a village fom a book. We had our two young grandchildren with us and could not have been made more welcome. Fully intend to return at another time.

Hotel was comfortable and friendly. Our room was small but well equipped with some nice welcoming touches such as fresh fruit and a good selection of toiletries. Nice to see a cafeteria and ground coffee, plus herbal teas in the room. Food was excellent. We had the taster menu on our first night which was beyond expectations. We also ate...
