Have just spent two days at Battlesteads. This hotel never disappoints. Slight mix up with room allocations on arrival resulted in us being upgraded into one of the lodges. This was a magnificent room, loads of space, fully furnished with new oak style furniture, massive king size bed, small fridge containing fresh fruit and water. Fresh coffee with cafetière,not instant...

Positives: Alex and Denisa. Both are top class. Lodges. Our third stay and still first class condition overall. Food. Chef has maintained his high standards. The new extension is sympathetic with the original building and a great addition to the hotel. Negatives: Booked four lodges in early July and received no information or conformation regarding the booking or format for...

We stayed as a 2 night travel zoo deal with 8 course taster menu and paid a supplement to stay in the lodge. The staff were lovely and the lodge room well worth the extra cost. My husband had rung ahead of our stay to inform them that I am vegetarian (which is surely not that uncommon these days). Most...

We booked this as a short break over the Christmas period to relax and it did not disappoint! The Good: A lovely warm interior with numerous fires, plenty of drinks and places to relax after a day of walking. An excellent restaurant with thoughtfully prepared meals and superb breakfast options. Good rooms with plenty of space and excellent facilities. A...

In November 2016 I made a group reservation of 15 rooms for 3 nights in October 2017 (this gave the hotel 11 months prior notice). The 15 room reservation was accepted and a date, 2.5 months later, was agreed with the manager (discussed personally on the phone and confirmed by email) by which I would confirm the precise room requirements...

Just back from this lovely hotel,it was a deal on travel zoo , two nights b&b with eight course taster menu, I think the travel zoo price was on the money I don't think it's worth paying full price ,also because I could only go at the weekend there was a £20 a night supplement which I think in this...

We had a couple of nights in the luxury lodge and it was amazing. The rooms are spacious, clean and the little details make this a special stay, from the huge shower and jacuzzi bath to the toiletries selection and fresh fruit on arrival. Could not fault the food and drink, the Taster menu is to be recommended and the...

Have just returned from a lovely couple of days over New Year at Battlesteads. This was our first visit but wont be the last. The place is warm and comfortable, the bedroom was a bit small but beautifully clean and well equipped, food was good and plentiful and served with a smile (staff are terrific). We cannot fault the place....

We stayed here in August and enjoyed it so much that we decided to visit again. This time all the extension to the bar area was finished and I have to day what a good job they have done. Read my previous review for lots of information! We again had the eight course taster meal and this time the fish...
