My Wife and I recently got married (22/08/2015) and held our reception in Downings Bay Hotel. We chose the venue because we stayed there the night we got engaged and were sold by the charm of not only the hotel and it's setting but, also, the charm of the staff working there. They were genuinely happy for us, generous with...

Tried here on spec for breakfast for ten. They were great and were able to accommodate after a short 20 minute wait. Lots of choices of cereal , toast and juice and a very friendly waitress indeed. I didn't however read the menu properly and mistakenly thought I could have an omelette with some bacon but it was either an...

Stayed at Downings Bay for the Mooathon. Location was great. Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, sleep quality was poor due to thin walls and loud disco (even at back of hotel, you could hear it) until 3 am on Saturday night.

Had dinner on Thursday night, 3 courses for E16, apparently all the locals are aware of it and it fills up pretty quickly. Excellent food, seafood starter fantastic, the waitress even brought us extra vegetables.

We recently held our wedding reception at the Downings Bay Hotel and they delivered on all levels. We were delighted with the attentiveness of all the staff but a special mention to Eileen and Joan who demonstrated a first class 'can do' attitude to all our requests, no matter how big or small. they are a credit to the hotel...

Stayed in the Downings Bay Hotel from Friday 28th until Sunday 30th August. Had a lovely time! Staff very helpful, friendly and accommodating! Our bedroom was situated overlooking the side of the hotel with a slight view of Sheephaven Bay! Only downside was on Saturday night we got a distant thumping from the nightclub! I would not have appreciated being...

This is a great choice for a meal on a Thursday when there is a special deal of €16.50 per person for 3 courses with a glass of wine thrown in. We had an excellent meal a few weeks ago which included a delicious sirloin steak. It gets busy during the holiday season so we ate in the bar area...
