What a nice modest hotel ! Right in the middle of the amazing Pyrennées Mountain, some hours walk to stunning lakes, this place is like a home. The owners and the staff are extremely polite and charming, dedicated to their customers, almost like a nice and close family without excess. The food are stunning and the menu changes every single...

I have read the reviews since 2011 - nothing had changed. It is a lovely mountain stay with hearty simple food, welcoming hosts and very simple lodgings. The only downside we had was water that did not get above tepid. It is an excellent base for day walks.

We stayed here while walking the Tour de Mont Carlit. Our expectations were low. Lac Bouillouses sounded like a real tourist trap, and we didnt expect much. We arrived after a 4 hour walk, andhad lunch - superb! realy freindly service orientated staff, fanatastic food. Supper was the same, our rooms were basic, clean and comfortable. A really nice place,...

As others have said this is a mountain refuge not a fancy hotel and as such bedrooms are basic but clean and functional. An unrivaled place for walkers, climbers and horse riders in a spectacular location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner is a hearty affair aimed at satisfying the guests who have all worked up an appetite...

We discovered this area several years ago and have loved it ever since. September is quiet and so we go walking in the Carlit area. The Bone Hores is a superb place to start from. Central to several walks.

Revisited hotel after two years and found it as good as before and the service has certainly improved. Rooms are still with the same old furnishing but reasonably well-maintained so that everything works. Sound proofing remain a problem for this old building but remember this is a walker's mountain hut type of hotel and not a 4 star hotel downtown....

We stayed two nights at this lovely old hotel when walking in this exceptionally beautiful area around the Carlit Massif. The hotel sits on the top of a valley overlooking a huge lake and dam, with herds of cows and sheep roaming around. It is an old stone building with character but please do not expect marble clad bathrooms or...
