Hi LSexton26,
Thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry that our place may not have been a fit for you--we're a small, indeed rustic lodge located in the middle of rural Honduras. I see that your only other review in Honduras (which was 5...More

Hi there Stefan,
Thanks so much for your message! I'm glad you enjoyed D&D and I'm sorry the rain bothered you a bit. In the jungle it does rain sometimes, but that's what gives us our beautiful tropical garden.
Otherwise I very much hope you...More

I agree with the other post, this area is considerably safer than San Pedro Sula, Tegus, or even Copan. We walked around the area and never felt threatened. Common sense is key, but I was in Honduras for 4 or 5 months, and I would say stay away from the 2 big cities, and be smart in Copan. I would check out D&D, the waterfalls close by, any of the bay islands, I liked Tela, and I visited a couple of spots around Copan, and felt the level of security and safety were not a huge concern, especially when compared to being in the major cities or in the southeastern portion of the country. Hope that helps.

To answer your questions:
1. Very much looking forward to hosting you all in September! There is bus transportation from the border crossing of Las Manos to Tegucigalpa. If you don't happen to see one, you'll first need to get a bus to Danli and then onwards to Tegucigalpa. From there you'll want to get a bus heading north to San Pedro Sula. The bus will need to be able to stop in "La Guama." Please note that some bus companies refuse to stop mid-trip so make sure to inquire about this before boarding. Once in La Guama, you'll head to Pen~a Blanca (~12km) followed by a motortaxi to D&D Brewery for 50 Lps. max.
2. September is usually a slow month for us but a reservation is always helpful. That said, we know plans tend to change as you travel so just let us know with a few days notice!
Enjoy your trip on the way to D&D,
Bobby
