The second time I've stayed at Creag Na Mara in three years and would definitely stay there again. Chris and Karen are the loveliest people and even if their approach to their "green" lifestyle is not to your own taste and contrary to other reviews they do not thrust it upon you in any way. As for their dogs, yes...

You should either run a B&B or have large dogs that snarl at every stranger. These guys here are trying to do both. On top of the unfriendly dogs they bombard you with rules about how to separate your waste, how to order breakfast, when to be seated for dinner/breakfast. The room itself was small but clean with a nice...

i stopped here overnight with my mother before travelling on to Orkney. the rooms were very smart with comfortable beds. chris and karen went out their way to make sure we got a breakfast before leaving to catch the early morning ferry at scrabster. I forgot to lift a shirt I had left hanging up but after a quick call...

We loved staying here. After a very long, tiring drive to the very top of Scotland we were thankful for the comfort and friendliness of Creag Na Mara. Our room was excellent, light and airy, modern, and spotlessly clean. We had a bath as well as a shower with a good range of toiletries. Chris and Karen are the loveliest,...

Stayed here on a "get away from it all" break. Room had a lovely view across the fields to the Pentland Firth. Bonus - the ensuite had a bath; bubble bath and other toiletries were provided in nice glass bottles. The room had an electric panel heater with a thermostat and a timer so not sure why other reviewers complained...

We stayed here on the way to Orkney and found it a great disappointment compared with our accommodation the previous two nights. The room was sparse and very cold but adequate. The evening meal that we had pre-booked was not of a particularly high standard and had to be eaten in an extremely chilly conservatory decorated with dying pot plants...

Stayed here on 18th October . We were a group of two couples doing a quick mini tour of the north of Scotland. We arrived early but this did not seem to be a problem as the rooms were ready for us. Our initial welcome was ok and we were shown our rooms. They were adequate but very cold. This...

We stayed here on a tour of Scotland because of its proximity to John O'Groats. The accommodation was not as opulent as some of the other b&bs that we stayed at but this was also reflected in the price and it represented good value for money. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The house is surrounded on...

Stayed the night before beginning a John O'Groats to Land's End cycle trip. The room was tidy and comfortable. The evening meal was good, as was the breakfast. What was particularly good was that, after we left, we realised we'd left some clothes behind, and the owner was kind enough to drive out in the pouring rain to hand them...

My wife, Grandson, and i stayed here in May/June 2009 for one night en-route to orkney, this is a fantastic place to stay, i found the price quite competitive and you get what you pay for (i have stayed in so called cheap places before and quite frankly have even walked out of some of them). We emjoyed our stay...
