Has potential, great spot in lovely village but needs more investment including staffing resources. Staff were friendly but not enough of them. Wait for breakfast was unacceptable. Room was furnished well enough but could have been cleaner.

Stayed here on Sat 30th Jan as I was attending a wedding in the village hall. I never usually like to write negative reviews as I am in the catering and hospitality business myself and I know it is very hard work, however .................. First impressions of the hotel facade are poor as it needs some TLC. Nobody on reception...

Room was okay, basic, needs cosmetic work, but sufficient, this was a gift, i wouldnt stay here again though. Check in is done in the bar, 1 member of staff serving food drinks and doing reception duties. Was busy enough, and the bar is cosy with a log fire, the food is amazing, and very surprising considering the look of...

We stayed over new year as have done In the past as nice area and hotel. However the hotel of which has massive potential needs a wee bit TLC along with better restaurant food options. I understand it has been taken over and I hope the Hotel gets the investment as it has huge potential in respect to accommodation, restaurant,...

First the positives: our room was magnificent (room 15). Large, well furnished, ideal room temperature, very comfortable bed, spacious clean bathroom. The view over the hills is lovely. Breakfast was fine. The price for b&b at New Year was very reasonable. However, there were a series of daft irritations. One of the blinds in the room was broken and could...

48 Ramblers were booked here for our annual Christmas lunch. The organisers had been highly efficient in getting us to choose our courses and letting the hotel have them in advance. When we arrived after our walk two long tables each seating 24 had been set up in the conservatory. This isn't a great arrangement for a group of over...

Went through a Groupon deal.First impression was to complete the hotel registration at the bar (no reception). The Groupon deal included scones on arrival, which we had to ask for, poor quality. The hotel corridors are tired and dated with chipped white woodwork. The bathroom had no hand soap or toilet brush. Breakfast cereals were laid out with no serving...

Pros - It has the potential to be decent if it changed the way it was run. The staff are friendly. Tv in room with some channels, but smallest tv I've ever seen. I enjoyed the shower. Cons- When booking you're asked when you plan to check in but then you arrive to find hotel building completely closed from 11-3pm...

Stayed for 2 nights using a deal. We weren't disappointed. Check in was smooth and efficient and were welcomed with a lovely roaring log fire in the small bar. Room was sufficient. Yes could do with a little TLC but didn't take anything away from the enjoyment of our stay. The downstairs part of the hotel looks as though it...
