Superbly located right in the tiny harbour, this is a beautiful place to stay. The walks are bracing and energetic, don't recommend for any pushchairs though. The food is extremely good, rooms spacious and clean; we had 303 with a shared patio overlooking the harbour - lovely. All held together by the lovely Beth, tirelessly delivering fabulous customer service. All...

Beautiful location, stayed for 2 nights ad ate in the restaurant the first night. The whole place was lovely, even in February weather, comfortable room, good food, cosy bar and really good value. It was very luxurious with dressing gowns, slippers, hot water bottles(!) provided and even free parking on site. Fab.

This is a lovely old hotel in a quiet setting in a fishing village. We had our dog with us so we were in a separate building opposite the hotel. It had been newly renovated so very fresh and attractive. The room was a bit small but the bathroom was very spacious. The coast path ran next to this annex...

Have stayed before and enjoyed. So we went again and we're put in room 203 in the main hotel. This room was fine for us as last stay we were over the car park block. We like to get away and relax and this hotel did just that. We stay out of season on a bed breakfast and evening meal...

We've been visiting the Lugger for years - and usually it has been superb. It is in a gorgeous location, the food is excellent, very comfortable beds, large rooms and attentive staff. The menu has been varied and in the past had a fantastic tasting menu. Room service cannot be faulted. We were disappointed this time by the dinner experience...

A weekend away. It's not just any weekend .It was so special. Hot water bottles appeared to warn your feet. Cake welcomed you back from a days jaunt. Local weather forecasts left for planning the next day. These were the delightful extras. The meals were stupendous based on the sea and the locality. Nothing was too much trouble for the...

We had the Look Out room which is almost attached to the main hotel but has the best views of the harbour and out to sea. The attention to detail from the warm and friendly staff was exceptional...from home-made biscuits with our afternoon tea, the hot chocolate and hot water bottles in our room each evening, the bathrobes and slippers,...

Met the chef on second night when all 7 courses were explained with the matched wines and it was definitely a hit ! Very enjoyable evening and staff ever so friendly and attentive. Thank you for taking the time to tell readers how much you enjoyed our Gourmet evening. Much of the credit for the success of the night goes to you, the diners, who were so appreciative of the efforts make by Head Chef Daniel, his kitchen brigade and front of house team, not forgetting Zoey, from Mathew Clark, who kept the...

My husband and I enjoyed a very good stay at the Luger hotel on Saturday 18th of February. The room was lovely and clean with the usual coffee, tea and biscuits along with fresh fruit in the room. We were treated to complementory coffee on arrival as we were rather early . They were having a tasting menu that evening...

Stayed for three nights in room 101, which was in an annex building across the slipway from the main hotel. The room is in a superb position overlooking the harbour with the sea directly outside the window at high-tide. The hotel is very characterful and is located in the middle of a small fishing village of Portloe. What we most...
