We ate here to celebrate a significant birthday and the food and service were truly first class except that one main course didn't arrive until most of us were finished (if we had waited we would have had 7 cold dinners) and I had a large lump of cooked cling film hiding in my steak which was a nasty surprise...

This hotel is a real gem in Plympton but what really makes it is the food. I have never eaten food like it, absoutely incredible, such high quality but at a very fair price. Our room was lovely with a large bathroom. Breakfast was also high quality and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. I really hope they never...

Night booked for parents and the evening was lovely with excellent service, good food and good value. We all felt we had received good, friendly service from all staff and made to feel welcome. Fair price for well cooked and nicely presented food. Will book again and you do need to book as it gets booked up very quickly.

My husband and I have stayed in the wedding suite previously and have eaten in the restaurant three times now so I felt it's about time I left a review! This is not the advertised 5 star environment. The staff are friendly and our room was adequately comfortable. At this advertised level though we wondered why one can't buy a single glass (as opposed to a bottle) of champagne and why wasn't there a waste paper basket in the bedroom? Food at dinner was satisfactory though uninspiring. Marmalade at breakfast...

Our daughter and son in law bought us a lunch voucher for our joint birthdays for this restaurant. The setting, the staff and the food were absolutely first class. The most amazing thing was the prices - very reasonable indeed for two or three courses from a very extensive and varied menu. Will certainly visit again, and recommend to our...

The room was fantastic - massive bathroom with a roll top bath and really large wet room type shower. Good quality fixtures and beds. We had dinner on the first evening which was really well cooked and very tasty. Well priced wine as well. The staff were excellent - from the check-in, to the very attentive bar staff and restaurant....

We had a great Sunday lunch here today with three other couples. Very polite and efficient staff. Nothing too much trouble. Wonderful menu to select from and all dishes were terrific. Extremely tasty, delightfully presented and great value for money. Lovely ambience throughout.

I have stayed here 3 times now while on business. The beds AE wonderful and the rooms cavernous as are the bathrooms. The breakfasts are grand- I love the smoked haddock and poached eggs. The bar is and the bartenders congenial and rather friendly. My only knock and this is really minor, if there is a party or wedding, it...
