What a complete hole this place is. Ignore the 3 stars or any any good reviews as they all relate to the pub and restaurant next door. This hotel is a complete nightmare. As a group of old geezers on a beer and rugby trip we just wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful to crash. Cheap? Yes but certainly not cheerful... More

Hazards as we found them; 1) Water dripping from the central lights and the pull cord for the light in the bathroom (ELECTROCUTION HAZARD) 2) insufficient external and internal lighting to find rooms in the dark (TRIPPING AND FALLING HAZARD). 3) Room Doors that will not lock (THEFT AND INTRUSION HAZARD). We did try to speak to the owner, but... More

Small, clean room with en-suite bathroom with very pretty views of ponds and lots of wildlife. Just needed a room for the night for an event at Hartpury College and was a very handy location. Ideal for a budget, overnight stay. Checked in at the bar - staff friendly and polite. Was meant to pay on arrival but was informed... More

We booked a twin room with this hotel as we were part of an evening event at Hartpury College. I phoned up at the time of booking and requested a ground floor room with disabled/wheelchair access for my 87 year old mother. I collected the keys on the afternoon and noted that the room smelled very damp - however I... More

Stayed here for 1 night in a puppy friendly room, which was very clean and spacious and far superior to other accommodation we have stayed at which accommodated dogs. The grounds are very picturesque and perfect for an autumn nights stay. The owners Gail & Tom are lovely and extremely welcoming. We also enjoyed a meal in the restaurant which... More

No staff present at any time; tiny room with cobwebs; tinier bathroom, with ventilation provided via open trapdoor in ceiling, child-size shower with awkward door, no towel rail or soap tray, towels stained. Drizzle effect shower head; feather duvet warm but could cause allergies. External staircase is rotten and bordering unsafe - who checks these things? Overlooks small lake/large pond... More

Came here for the sixth time come here every year but every years its getting poorer and poorer couldnt get through the door to our room as a wardrobe was in the way, no hot water in the shower and everytime we turned on a tap or flushed the chain the front of the room (outside) would leak water, the... We were out just for a drive as it was a lovely evening and came across this pub. Had a lovely meal which was at a decent price and a pint of well kept beer. It was quiet so not sure what it would be like if it was busy as the food took a little while to come. Will... More

I re-visited this place having not been there since I regularly went there back in the 80s. I am only reviewing the bar and restaurant as the hotel i separately owned and I did not stay there. However I must say, from reading other review on here, people seem to be expecting Hilton-standard accommodation. Its somewhere for fishermen fishing the... More

Spent 4 days on our return to this great family run business. The grounds have been renovated to a high standard giving a well kept feel to the place. The rooms now have 32 inch tvs with a great picture, this was a problem previously, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The restaurant is now run separately to... More
