We had not booked Sunday lunch on a Bank Holiday but the staff happily accommodated us in the bar as the restaurant was full. I had a lovely crab, prawn and advocado tian to start followed by roast beef and all the trimmings. Very good. My husband enjoyed the real ale brewed on the premises.

Very disappointed after friends recommended this place. Went Easter Sunday evening to eat once seated we found the restaurant very cold everyone had to keep their coats on. We were told the heating had stop working. Only two over tables eating but service very slow. We had to repeatedly ask for everything including wine, bread, cutlery culminating in staff stating that they...

Not much to look at from outside but a great location especially if you can get parked nearby. A proper local pub with a great restaurant and lovely rooms for the price. Good selection of beer (including own brews) and ciders and a long and classy menu matched by the cooking. Friendly, personal and attentive service. We will return.

I stayed at Parade Cottage, a little gem, owned by the Ship Inn and facing the sea. The room was very big, the facilities were splendid and everything was spotless. The breakfast, served in the pub's dining room, was generous and beautifully cooked. Service could not have been nicer. A lovely place to stay and such a nice change from...

Staying for business and went on the advice of Anita at the holiday inn. First impressions, great little pub (my sort of pub) but where do I eat? Quick enquiry at the bar and was advised to go through to the restaurant on the back of some interesting insight 'to expect a surprise'. Well the advice was not wrong, this...

I had a homemade 6oz Burger with Homemade Chips and Salad. The atmosphere - real English Pub. The meet was nice almost like a South African Beef Burger. It was a good big portion and the home made chips were good. The restaurant was busy but I had an enjoyable time. The main restaurant is very nice.

After having moaned to my partner in the run up to Christmas about how much I was in need of a break and that I needed to get away, he surprised me with a trip to The Ship Inn, near Folkestone for 3 days (2 nights), and I can honestly say, it was definitely the break that I needed! We...

Stayed at The Ship Inn for the second time as an overnight stp en route to France via the Channel Tunnel. We had the same room as before which overlooks the sea. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Stuart and Wendy were perfect hosts and we had a lovely takeaway breakfast. Will definitely stay again and...

We have been to the restaurant at The Ship Inn twice and were very happy with the food and the service on both visits. The food is very good and provides good value-for-money. The service is very friendly and efficient. If you get the window table you have an uninterrupted view of the sea, which is lovely.
