At the bottom of the Heath people let dogs off the lead, however be careful, there are lots of adders in there, they may bite your dogs nose if it sniffs them, we were there in May and saw several. Well behaved dogs that stay on the path are ok, be careful , by the way the snakes are fine if they are left alone.
