In need of an overnight in the West Country, I selected the Ash House. Easy to get to off the A303, the Ash is a beautifully kept country house with few rooms which make for a quiet and relaxing stay. Friendly staff and a great breakfast - recommended. The Succinct Traveler.

We had had various logistical problems earlier in the day - broken car window, traffic jams near London - and the welcome we received at Ash House Hotel was lovely. We felt cared-for, and not a word was uttered about our late check-in. We slept soundly - after a fortifying cup of tea (with fresh milk) and hot chocolate -...

Having not been to this area for some fifteen years we were looking forward to a return to the area, after looking on T/A for info decided on Ash House, very handy not far from the A303 so an ideal touring spot. We stayed for just one night, returning home from Cornwall. This 18th century, stone house has a small number of bedrooms and a tranquil garden at the rear. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed on Sundays (when we arrived) but the owner helpfully made a reservation for us at the Devonshire Arms in Long Sutton where we enjoyed our evening meal....

Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Enjoyed a four night break here in April, when making a long visit to the UK. This was our second stay at Ash House Hotel and we love the ambience there. Beautiful building in a most peaceful setting; great food and beds; and proprietor Gordon and his staff ensure that all guests needs are...

My wife and I stayed at this Country House Hotel mid-March 2016 but were very disappointed with the accommodation, given the rate for overnight B&B. Originally booked into the Crispin Double Ensuite, we were switched at the last minute to the Greensleeves Room, a small space, which contained a standard double bed, bedside tables, small free standing wardrobe, and small...

Thank you for your review, as always there are two sides to the experience. I personally showed you to the standard double room which overlooked the garden and you mentioned that you would like a bath, which had not been requested. I looked at the bookings and said that I could offer you a different room with a bath, which...

I recently had a four night stay at Ash House whilst on business in Yeovil. I really can't recommend the hotel highly enough and the staff and owners go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is a beautiful character property full of charm. With the hotel offering meals in the restaurant you have no reason...

Stayed for two nights midweek as a birthday pressie.Having already spoken to Gordon when booking, he was just as friendly when we met. Ate in one night and found the food and service to be excellent. The bar is cosy with a woodburning stove, and the barman has a wonderful air of laid back efficiency! The bedroom was fully equipped...

Visited Ash House on business. We received a friendly welcome and the rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel was very quiet but this suited us nicely. The food for both dinner and breakfast was exceptional and the staff were very polite and accommodating. If I ever find myself staying in Martock I will certainly be heading here for another...

We stayed for two nights over the Easter Weekend, and despite Storm Katie, we had a fantastic stay. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, with service impeccable. The food was delicious, both at breakfast (wide range of options) and at dinner, and the hotel itself was very clean and tastefully decorated. Would definitely recommend for a romantic weekend away.
