Had a last minute stay at this very nice friendly hotel. The manager (Gordon) was amazing, he was on reception, serving behind the bar, delivered food in the restaurant and all the time was the perfect host with a wonderful Troon accent. The restaurant served some wholesome great food that we all enjoyed. The Standard rooms that we ordered were... More

We have been to Ash House Hotel many times and always receive such a warm welcome from Gordon. I think I have said before that it is like being a special guest at someone's private house party. They have a super chef and we had several superb evening meals and breakfasts. Ash House is a very old English house set... More

We stayed here on our way further southwest as we needed somewhere that was not too far from the A303, and that was a good way from London. After possibly the worst journey I can remember with traffic and roadworks on the M25, M3 and A303 we eventually arrived to a warm welcome from Gordon and his staff. We ate... More

We stopped for one night on our way home from Cornwall. Arrived at the beautiful hotel, where we were met by the friendly receptionist, who provided fresh milk and showed us to our nice room. Really, the only thing that let the stay down was the worn-out mattress, which gave us back ache. We didnt stay for breakfast as we... More

We booked less than a week in advance for three nights with our dog to visit friends. Pippin was a modest sized though adequate room with a large bathroom with bath and separate Mira power shower. The bedroom was really comfortable and enjoyed a garden view. There were a couple of minor niggles that were not enough to mention. The... More

We stayed for two nights in a superior room which was very large and comfortable. Fresh milk for tea and coffee kept in a small fridge in the hall was one of the nice touches to make the stay pleasant. We ate in the hotel both nights as the food was so good. Breakfast was only served until 9.30am (9.00am... More

We'd never been to the Ash House Hotel before, but having heard good things, we thought we'd pop in for a drink. The hotel had a very pleasant, light atmosphere, and the bar was comfortable and cosy. The member of staff who served us was really friendly and helpful, offering up bits of information about the building. We enjoyed our... More

In need of an overnight in the West Country, I selected the Ash House. Easy to get to off the A303, the Ash is a beautifully kept country house with few rooms which make for a quiet and relaxing stay. Friendly staff and a great breakfast - recommended. The Succinct Traveler.

We had had various logistical problems earlier in the day - broken car window, traffic jams near London - and the welcome we received at Ash House Hotel was lovely. We felt cared-for, and not a word was uttered about our late check-in. We slept soundly - after a fortifying cup of tea (with fresh milk) and hot chocolate -... More
