The Cornish room was pleasant with some excellent art work by the owners brother. The bed was a small double and was fairly comfortable if smaller than we like. The shower was truly awful and being over a bath quite tricky for folks with dodgy hips as well as being not powerful enough. The breakfast consisted of a choice of... More

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that your stay with us was not up to the standard we, as owners, provide or the majority of our customers and reviewers experience. Regarding your "observations", I find it perplexing that you had "issues" about the shower in your room. When you made enquiries about the availability of accomodation, I... More

Stayed at Winslow Retreat for 2 nights during my recent tour in the UK. I was made to feel very welcome and at home. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable and nicely decorated in middle eastern style. Breakfast could have been whatever I wanted, but had the porridge each morning as it was so delicious. The highlight of my... More

Welcoming, comfy, clean, good size room. Excellent hosts and amazing quality breakfast. We had a really relaxing stay and cannot think of anything that would have improved it. Pretty village with good pub and picturesque countryside surrounding.

Apart from getting tucked up in bed and read a night time story, this place really felt like home. The rooms are comfortable and functional and finished to a good standard, sympathetically decorated to the style of the old building. It is a bit off the beaten path but the hosts make up for it all with their generous hospitality... More
