Last year thought H&B was good value, and re-booked for this May.At NO time did I ask for an 'upgrade'or was I offered one, that I accepted.I do not upgrade as we have to budget for our hols and always keep to deal rates. At check in was told I need to pay £60 surcharge as we were in a jacuzzi room. They ALL...

Staff friendly, yes lots of bricbrac but there again is an older style inn. Rooms fairly clean could definitely in need of de-cob webbing. Thought dining room could do with more day light especially in morning felt very dark an gloomy. Food service very slow and needs more organisation, both mornings and evenings. Needed to ask for everything, even for...

Ok, so not everything was bad here. We had as nice meal on the Saturday night; and the jacuzzi bath was enjoyable. However, the rest of the stay provided an entire catalogue of how not to do things. Firstly, we were almost Spanish Inquisition style-interrogated about the Living Social voucher we had ("You owe a supplement." "No, we don't." "Why...

As noted in last review, lots of chairs, tat and bric a brac in all hallways and communal areas which could be seen as a health and safety issue. All rooms appear to be a similar size and style, I think "upgrade" means being on the first floor with views of the countryside rather than car park and we had...

Check in was odd to say the least, two phone calls interrupted are check in before we were shown to our room. Which was also odd, very dated, retro from the 80's complete with feather lampshade and horrible drapes. The bathroom was smart and functional with plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed clean and comfortable. A kettle was provided...

We didn't even get to stay at this place. I purchased a Living Social Deal in October and booked for December. 3 days before we where due to go I was taken seriously ill and admitted to Hospital, my Daughter-in-law rang the Inn to let them know we couldn't make it, she was told not to worry as the voucher...

I have spent a few nights in this pub over the past 6 months. Its warm and welcoming. As the title says the Beer, Food and accomodations are all good. Staff are friendly and helpful. As some other reviews have said - its in a small village off of the beaten track, and it could probably do with a bit...

Had a good one night stay, dinner was lovely, breakfast fine; no menu as such so you just get asked if you want a cooked breakfast and that's what you get, simple. Room was clean and comfortable. The single track road is a bit hellish but you can go another way... which you find out after you get there. Overall...

We arrived at the Hawk and buckle at the beginning of March using a social deal for two nights. The first night included evening meal, the second night was a free bottle of house wine if dining in the restaurant. This pub was in the middle of a small village in the middle of nowhere, but this is what we...

We went with Living Social Deals and when we rang was told no normal doubles available so had to pay 20 per night to upgrade. Well room was quite nice, bedding clean but window catch broke. However that was all ok BUT overcharged by 20 pounds when hubby went to pay. He too shy to say anything, wish I had...
