We had a very nice night at the Royal Marine. The property looks like a Victorian home from the street and on entry. The reception staff, and all the staff were very friendly and nice. The rooms were updated with modern bathroom and furnishings. The breakfast area and Garden room were inviting and our breakfast was very nice. We would...

My wife and I have stayed at countless hotels in Britain and this one rates among the best. It's a lovely peaceful old property, and reminded us of old favourites like the Marcliffe in Aberdeen and the Golf View in Nairn. We got off to the perfect start when we received a room upgrade. We were in room 5, which...

This is a lovely hotel. Our room was huge and the quality of towels/ bed linen excellent. The girls on reception were lovely. Nice bar and restaurant and added bonus of pool, sauna and jacuzzi hit the spot. A few minutes walk to the beach too what more could you want. The staff are superb especially the young man from...

Previously had good lunches here. Today, despite the Garden Room being very quiet, service was poor. My companion got the wrong meal but my meal was still left in front of me. Plates eventually cleared but no offer of dessert or coffee after 15 mins so we left. We were asked when we paid if we'd enjoyed our meal but...

A beautiful looking hotel, but as soon as you step inside the doors you realise you are have gone back 50 years without any modernisation. The hotel has the potential to be really good, but the decoration and furniture are from the past. There a few thread bare furnishings and the room was not wonderful. The staff were very friendly...

Had quite a poor experience here recently. Started great as the Cullen Skink was wonderful, but the steak dinners next were very poor. Not cooked well and not great beef. Expensive for what we received.

Stayed here as part of our north of scotland tour. It is a nice old building in a good location Reception were very pleasant. We had a lovely room, very bright. And spacious. On the downside we found the evening meal food rather disappointing, as it wasn't cheap. It's a shame.

The presence of the manager on the first night felt all guests were looked after definitely missed him on the second night . Log Fire lovely to sit at. Used the swimming pool . Stayed here as part of a mini tour of Scotland. I can understand why the hotel is classed as 4 star, but our room ( room 20 ) was definitely not 4 star. The view was overlooking a roof of part of the leisure complex. The bed was comfy but the overall style of the room was odd, with a...
