Hotel's Favourite
There are two parts to this review First is Food and beverage/ Recently held a welcome dinner for 70 wedding guests in the Brunell room. Having made the arrangements total via email, never seeing the property or trying the food was somewhat apprehensive. Though we only had a buffet and some passed items the hotel did a wonderful job. Food was good, plentiful, what we ordered, on time and a real hit. A cash bar was equally very well handled with a multitude of staff helping guests quickly. Even a glich in the credit card system was resolved quickly and staff was pouring again. We brought donuts with us from London which we decided to put out last minute. Staff handled well, putting on trays and displaying for the 30 seconds they lasted. Breakfast in the morning we beautiful and full of variety, atrium bar had good food, service everywhere was handled by very nice kids. A request for a specialty drink sent one I think through the bowels of the building, but she returned cheery with drink in hand. Did notice that having two weddings in the building Sunday brunch was quite busy but the hotel was prepared, setting up additional space in the atrium bar so no one waited more than a few minutes. Overall, very impressive all the way around! Food service definitely managed well. The rooms: I don't know that the trip advisor reviews accurately portray how beautiful and well- kept this property is. Mixed reviews left us with a felling of apprehension and even some locals we spoke to left us very unsure of what we were getting into. We were wrong. You pull up to a building and entrance that is a throw back to another era. Stately and regal. The grounds are magnificent. Well manicured , vast and green. The inside has a grandeur that i have only seen on television.. The place is spotless. We were a large group at a wedding so we had over 20 rooms in total. The larger ones are very well appointed with very modern bathrooms. The small ones also quite comfortable with new bathrooms. There is one drawback. We were there right after it was hot and the guest rooms never recovered. Being a historic building the windows for some reason did not open much, many sealed shut. Heat was not unbearable but for Americans it was warm in a lot of the rooms. The staff did EVERYTHING they could to help, running fans, changing rooms and showing patience of the staff you would expect to find in some large convention hotel in a city. De vere Tortworth was a very pleasant surprise and should not be missed if you are staying in the Cotswalds. Its definitely worth the road not taken.

An amazing hotel set in its own grounds. Its an ideal place to relax and take some time out. Rooms are spacious and clean. Plenty of car parking spaces. The atmosphere and food in the Atrium was wonderful. Staff are really friendly and go out of their way to provide a very professional service. Looking forward to going back again shortly

The hotel is gorgeous and looks like a beautiful historical castle . Entrance and reception area with magnificent staircase is also very impressive! Restaurant and bistro are nicely setup. We had pre dinner drinks and after dinner cocktails in atrium after our meal. They had live music which was lovely. I also rebooked a treatment in the spa. They have 2 saunas but spa complex is badly designed in my opinion. Swimming pool and jacuzzi is on 1st floor, changing rooms and saunas on 2nd floor. There are no lounges to lie down after the swim so it’s pretty much swim and go. I’ve been to some other hotels and spa area was much more interesting and inviting. We had a room in the new wing. It didn’t look as good as pictures. Bathroom still have 2 taps and shower pressure was difficult to regulate Apart from these minor things we had a great relaxing night

Really disappointing, had asked for an early check in and it was not noted apparently and room was not ready, but not only that it only became available 40 mins after the normal check in time! Also, I found staff stern and cold and not a single smile to be seen especially at reception. Room was dirty when we checked in and without the additional bed we had asked for. Such a beautiful building and grounds, such a shame the service and communication is poor and the rooms are so clinical and in our case, completely dirty. The only redeeming factor was food at the atrium was great.

Dear 254mandyo. Thank you for taking the time to review De Vere Tortworth Court. As you can see this is not our usual standard and we are sorry that we did let you down It is always a great disappointment for us to receive reviews that we have failed to meet the expectations of our guests and to deliver the usually high standards on which we pride ourselves. However without such feedback it would be impossible for us to improve. I would be grateful if you could provide a contact telephone number or email for us to make contact with you at a time of your convenience and hopefully resolve these fully for you. Please E-Mail: tortworth.grm@devere.com Kind Regards. Paul Naylor-Wild. Guest Relations Manager.

A direct extract from my wife’s chemotherapy journal @littleGem_AndTheBigC A thank you Since starting chemo I limit going to places full of people through fear of catching something, scarred by my ‘Covid twice in 25 days’ experience. I celebrates Mother’s Day early as my husband is heading to Anfield today(selfish) but he did arrange for us to have an overnight @deveretortworthcourt They have been brilliant. Louie at reception thoroughly understood my situation. On arrival we were upgraded to ‘guests of the day’. This gave us discount for food, spa treatments etc as well as a room upgrade. The room had some small but lovely gifts waiting for us (see picture). Louie had made sure the restaurant staff were aware of my needs so seated us away from other people. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere. In the morning at breakfast we had the same lovely service. Cody looked after us. Showing discretion he privately spoke with my husband to ask if I would mind a gift as a token of his thoughts. His Dad is going through cancer treatment so he wanted to reach out. The gift and card he gave me was so lovely and heart warming. Cody is helping to organise a brain tumour support event at Tortworth Court. Check out the flyer and here’s the link (trip advisor made me remove link) Keep on keeping on Cody It was lovely to get out and feel ‘normal’. Don’t get me wrong, I was full of anxiety being out of my bubble of the house, and I was shattered yesterday as a result, but the care and thoughtfulness everyone showed was totally worth it.

I stayed with my partner in this amazing beautiful building at the end of February. The customer service was fantastic. All of our needs were met. We had a room in the main house overlooking the beautiful grounds. Both our dinner and breakfast was not capable of being faulted. Highly recommended for an unforgettable relaxing stay
