We stayed for two nights on our way back to Folkestone to pick up the channel tunnel. The hotel was very clean with tea and coffee making facilities which we like. The hotel is above a pub "The kings Head" but we did not find it noisy or disturbed us in any way. However we did not stay at a...

We were very pleasantly surprised to find that this lovely old pub not only allowed dogs in the public areas but also in the rooms. (a £10 surcharge per dog). Welcoming staff, good food, open fires nicely decorated. There is no private parking but we had no problem parking on the road outside.

We had a friendly reception and our comfortable room was made available early. We ate well in the restaurant and enjoyed a couple of pints at the buzzing bar amongst the locals. Throughout our stay we were made to feel welcome and will certainly come back. This is a great place to stay for a quiet break or - as...

We stayed here for New Years Eve and had a really excellent experience. Firstly, the pub itself is beautifully designed down to every last detail - a sort of rural/modern setting with excellent lighting, a roaring fire - quite a cosy, intimate setting really - perfect for a romantic getaway. Staff and the owners were very welcoming and provided flawless...

We had our Christmas get together here last week I was looking forward to eating here as I hadn't visited this pub for sometime and had heard very good reports. Lovely Christmas decorations . We reserved a table well in advance and provisionally booked for 10 till we contacted the diners. But only 8 could make that date. We booked...

We arrived without any previous booking but were soon found a table. The pub and restaurant part was buzzing but not too noisy. The menu whilst not enormous but was more than sufficient. We started with a shared mixed meats platter served as a starter and was very tasty. My main course was fish and chips with mushy peas. Sometimes...

Arrived 3.30pm today but check-in not allowed until 4pm so chap went to check if room was ready. Came back 5 minutes later and he said it was. We paid £100 for 1 night stay and he then told us they were only serving food until 7pm - on a weekend ? We said we would find our own way...

Really enjoyable weekend event, 1st and 30th anniversaries. Small group taking 5 rooms, evening meal, bar, bed and breakfast. Comfortable, stylishly pared back decor in the rooms, lovely and clean, good hot water. Food choice and presentation was well done and it was really good to eat too. As much as possible has been sourced locally too, food ingredients, beers,...

If, like me, you travel on business but really dislike the big chain hotels this is for you. Quiet, high quality comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting. The rooms are well equipped with WiFi etc. The bar and restaurant serve excellent food and drinks in a very relaxed ambiance. I will certainly be going back.
