We stayed one night here whilst visiting the potteries, on entering the place looks tired and dated, in the dining room the carpet had tape along the carpet where it had frayed, the bedroom was awful, very basic, bed was old and uncomfortable as it dipped in the middle right across the width but sheets where clean, the only other...

Room smelt of fags, shower didnt work, bed sheets covered in stains, very thin walls so I was woke up by a couple that checked in at 2am and they kept me awake until I had to leave for work at 7. Would not stay again.

Should have been held in the ballroom but was held in the dining room as there was not enough people to make this viable. Not the hotels fault. The dance floor was a bit small. Disco was fine when he got warmed up. The buffet was excellent could not fault it. We stayed the night. Room was a bit dated...

We decided on The George for Christmas as we had read the positive reviews for the Sunday Carvery. It will a choice we will not make again. We were placed at a able in the undecorated Ball Room. This was cold and only had 40 or so diners. There was no atmosphere, and the Christmas music was only started near...

we held our wedding reception here on 21st November. At about 945 pm there was a power cut taking out the lights and disco. It took 15 minutes for the lights to be restored the disco was in fact never restarted. At no time did any of the staff or events manager take the time to tell us what was...

The George Hotel in its hey day would have been a grand hotel to stay in and you can imagine with the Royal Daulton factory around the corner that all manor of people would have wanted to stay there. Fast forward to 2015 and the old girl is in a sorry state and in need of a major investment from...

Well after reading some of the recent reviews we were expecting a rather dire stay but when we walked into our room it was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Fittings were rather tired and worn looking as others have mentioned but we had everything we needed. Our room was £55 and we were happy that the cost suitably reflected...

Could be lovely but needs a massive cash injection. Evening meal was ok. Breakfast was pretty poor, cold food, no milk, coffee of juice. Room was ok but needs updating. This hotel has hardly any staff, the ones they do have sadly struggle to cope. Parking is poor.

“Worse room ever!” I stayed here with two other colleagues on a business trip which was booked via AMEX. I think most AMEX clients would be appalled at the quality of accommodation an d not what they would be used to. Fortunately it was just one night. Carpet leading up to the rooms were threadbare. My room had a hole...
