This B&B is genuinely a fantastic little find. Located in small and quiet village it is certainly the heart of the village. The rooms are comfortable, on the slightly small side but fine for a couple or businessman on a night trip. The bed is very comfortable and room comes with a kettle and coffee/tea for the morning as well...

We have recently stayed here for one night and in all fairness we couldn't fault the room, other than the very thin pillows, which you could almost fold in half. The inn is set in a very quiet village, close to Great Tew and other quaint towns/villages. The inn itself is so cozy and I could imagine it in the...

A wonderful traditional pub with the most lovely people running it - super service - interested to make sure you are enjoying your trip there - short menu but carefully chosen - good span of choices, fresh seasonal food so menu changes accordingly. Very reasonable prices - we were just out for an informal lunch and happened across this pub...

Small room and tiny bathroom. The sealant under the shower screen was only just attached in two places and just hanging down. Could not have just happened as top of the bath had numerous metal marks where people had tried to use the shower screen. Water temperature not adjustable either. Breakfast - unable to offer brown toast only had the...

Many of us search for the idyllic country inn: a quiet village, low beamed bar, quality restaurant, superb real ale, good wines and preferably its own carpark and modernised bedrooms. Quite demanding, but the White Horse has it all! This is a lovely old building with sensitively kept period interior. Good quality is what you expect the moment you walk...

I stayed here one night overnight in passing to the north. The inn itsself is beautiful, with all original details conserved and maintained to a high standard. It's easy to find, and situated in gorgeous surroundings of gently rolling hills and fields of the cotswolds. The staff is exceptionally friendly and polite, and made me feel very welcome. The room...

My family was in Oxfordshire for a wedding and this Inn was recommended by the bride. So glad we booked here - fantastic staff working for a great owner with a chef and kitchen staff who far exceeded our expectations. I cant say enough good things - beautiful setting, quaint rooms but big enough, big comfortable beds, new bathrooms, everything...

We booked for two nights. The room was clean, with all that was required and the bath room had a good high pressure shower. The evening meal was excellent, local ingredients cooked well, and served by attentive, friendly staff. This is a real friendly village pub that we recommend.

This is a lovely little pub and we received a really warm welcome. The guys behind the bar are brilliant and the full English breakfast was fabulous. We were lucky enough to get lovely weather, so we enjoyed sitting out in the sun in the little outside garden area. We had one of the superior rooms above the pub itself,...

Small room upstairs adjacent to pub so not troubled by noise. Very clean but limited surfaces to put anything. Door lock problematic. Food was excellent both dinner & breakfast. Lovely to have a bath but it had a rough 'sandy' non slip surface.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The White Horse is a quintessential 17th century English coaching inn set on the eastern side of the Cotswolds in the charming village of Duns Tew. With original flagstone floors, beams and real fires. The White Horse has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink or meal with friends. Our south facing terrace is perfect on warm days. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome. The White Horse has greeted travellers for the last three hundred years. Little is known of the early history of this late 17th century hostelry, but there was certainly an Inn here. Inn keepers are recorded here up to the present day, with its own brew-house run by a Maltster, in the early 17th century. The brew-house is now the site of the gents' loo.Towards the end of 1981 The White Horse was remodelled with the addition of a dining room, but it was still a true Inn as there was stabling and fodder for a traveller's horse as well as Bed and Breakfast for the rider. In the last decade of the 17th century the White Horse was again developed to the arrangement seen now, with a new Kitchen, Dining Room and Bar, in a traditional style, and extended bedroom accommodation. ... more   less
