I was greeted by the owner and his English was good, the room with views of the lake was plain, but clean and comfortable. Noisy traffic, but the view made up for it. I ate well in the restaurant choosing game as it is in season. All in all value for money.

I went on my first-ever group tour this summer, and we stayed here for two nights in June 2013. Compared to the other European hotels we stayed in, this room was larger than the others. It had a nice renovated bathroom. And overlooked the beautiful lake - I was astounded when I opened the room door and saw the view....

This was a convenient stay on the way from Zurich airport to our camping in Lauterbrunnen. The hotel is comfortable, owners are firendly, breakfast is good. It is on the lake and close to a highway. I would stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 nights through Switzerland and what a great little family run hotel. The family's house is connected to the 2nd floor. Rooms are a nice size for Europe and some get an amazing view of the lake. Not much to speak of in the town except for a few beer gardens or restaurants - but walking around...

Our tour group stayed at this hotel for two nights while exploring Lucerne. I was glad they introduced us to it, and I will be staying here anytime I visit Central Switzerland. It was the quaint, storybook American ideal of what a Swiss hotel in the Alps would be. The four level hotel overlooks Lake Sarnen, a beautiful lake located...

We discovered this hotel about 20 years ago while travelling by car down to Italy. We thought it was great then and have continued to use it ever since. We stayed again this year and were delighted to be back. Clean rooms, excellent food and service and well located for exploring central Switzerland.

If you are looking for a large mid-city hotel with a doorman, concierge desk and room service, the Hotel Belvoir will disappoint you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a small family-run hotel; if you want to awake to the friendly sound of bells from grazing cows; if you want a view of Lake Sarnen and the...
