Long story short we were lucky to find a room here at the last minute -- they had only one open. The room was one of the basic styles, comfortable, very clean, affordable and met our needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach -- literally 150 meters. The hotel's view of the horizon is spectacular. We were able to see what other room were available -- some were spacious with their own private patio. There s a single small house also for rent, but the rental does not include breakfast as there is a kitchenette in it. Another nice feature of the hotel was that it was within walking distance to good restaurants and a corner store. We plan to stay there again.
The rooms facing the back are small, decrepit, with tiniest, old bathrooms. Threadbare sheets, with holes, frayed bath mats. Time to update everything! The owners do not want to hear any complaints and do not address them. On the upside, the view from the dining patio is great. There are few more, much nicer hotels up the road and a few airbnbs.
We had a room with a terrace overlooking the ocean and it was great .La Posada is a tranquil place, with lots of charm and managed by very kind hosts, located only 200 meters from beach. Leo and Theo were very accommodating, making reservations at nearby restaurants. Breakfast is complete with varied fruit and toasts. The rooms overlooking the ocean are the best, the bathroom could be improved with a bit of a face-lift! We loved the open restaurant area where everyone gathers and socializes and from where sunsets are amazing. We will be back !
We really enjoyed our 5 nights at La Posada. Our room had an amazing view of the beach and surrounding forest. We felt very welcomed as we arrived and checked in. The owners are very friendly and were accommodating. We got an extra small fridge for the room and a coffee maker. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits, eggs, and pancakes. Playa Carillo is a 5 minute walk from here. You can enjoy the beach from early in the morning to late in the evening. There's plenty of small restaurants around with good food and reasonable prices. The nearest town of Samara is a good tourist destination with lots of activities and is only 10-15 drive from La Posada. Even though we were here for only 6 days, the vacation was very memorable. For our last night, the owners made us a reservation to dine with them and their daughter at a nearby Argentinian restaurant. The food and setting was great and we all had a good time. Thank you so much Leo and Theo for your kindness and hospitality. We really hope to come back and stay at La Posada again in the future!…
Showed up with no reservation and the lady managing it was super happy and helpful We got a room with a view overlooking this great beach with lots of colourful birds all over Breakfast was top notch and the coffee tastes even better with this view
Carrillo is short of reasonably priced accommodation, and this is an example. The views out to sea are enchanting, and birds of all kinds dive through the trees below. But the place has all the charm of a construction camp, with cheap materials, poor bed, sheets that don’t fit, and a hash house breakfast.
... the owners weren't there. There was a fantastic girl attending us and doing EVERY SINGLE THING. Although she was very nice, nobody was there apart from her. She did literally everything, cleaning, breakfast (nice one), arranges (taxis, etc). The hotel is in the middle of a manglar and it was really scary to be the only occupants by night. Avoid it, until they get more workers to attend you. Thanks Alex!
This place has a great view. Here is good breakfast and yogaclasses on tuesdays. Borrow a bike (not the best bikes though). The staff is very helpfull and friendly. Our stay was great. You will love it here.
Positive: Good views from breakfast zone, free mini surf boards and snorkeling features, good air conditioning. Negative: Long check-in, small room, there was insects in room, no private refridge, not so close to the beach as expected before
Nice, clean quiet B&B just what I was looking for my stay at Carrillo the night before a triathlon race. Good pasta for dinner. Good service. Beautiful views. Breakfast was good although I would have appreciated homemade pancakes and natural orange juice instead artificial juice and prepared mix.
