This was our 4th visit - it’s the only place we would keep coming back to. Met up with several guests that were there on our previous visits. The staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you - they really make the hotel and are why so many guests keep coming back. Best breakfasts in SE Asia served by the lovely Anika & Don and a lovely lad. They have a great lunch menu and dinner on the beach is amazing. Capt Lee took my husband and friends on a fishing trip and the chef cooked the catch - it was absolutely fabulous and was a real highlight of our holiday. Vibe at the bar is superb and this down to the wonderful staff - M, Halim, Anizan, Azura, Din, Que, Khai & Mood. Sulhalmi does a great job keeping the gardens and grounds tidy and is a real character. Elynn, Rejesh and the guys in reception are so helpful. I am bound to have missed someone out but I cannot praise the staff enough - they really make this a special place. You feel like you are visiting family and we cannot wait to go back.…
I am writing this the day we are leaving as I want this published ASAP! It is the first time I am feeling rather sad to be leaving a hotel, and I have stayed in many. We were greeted warmly and everything about the hotel, room and services explained. I would recommend any room here as walking distance to any facility is no more than 20 steps however we stayed in a Beachfront Villa and it is superb. Lovely garden entrance. The beach a few steps forward or the pool a few steps to the left. Decisions decisions. The rooms are very well appointed and the whole hotel is well looked after and homely. You feel comfortable and relaxed wherever you are here. However, the absolute stars of the show are the staff. Everyone works so so hard here and it is done from the heart. Always smiling and chatting. Nothing is too much. You instantly feel welcomed and everyone is so caring and thoughtful. It was my birthday whilst here and several of the team went the extra mile and brought me birthday treats whilst i was minding my own business laying on a sun lounger by the beach. I was very touched. The service here knocks spots off many of large “5 star” chain hotels I have stayed at around the world. We are sad to be leaving but happy knowing we will be back. An absolute gem of a place. Thank you team CDM. You are simply the Best !…
I am struggling to find things to say that haven't already been said before but here goes. This small hotel with oceanfacing rooms just feels like a home from home. The staff are welcoming from the moment you check in even waving goodbye as we left after two weeks. It's very informal and all the little touches like chilled water and fruit being brought to us whilst relaxing in beach are really appreciated.Particularly loved breakfast especially make our own cocktails!Fresh fruit prepared to order delicious.Would like to thank all of reception staff for their support and help tracing husband's mobile phone after he left it in a taxi.Lots of great restaurants outside of hotel covering all tastes. As this hotel is frequented by many repeat guests we have already booked again for next year. Can't wait.…
This wonderful hotel is, arguably, not the most salubrious of hotels (we have stayed in bigger and more modern 5 Star hotels, with lots more facilities) but it suits us to a tee; it’s small, perfectly formed and has a special soul and magic about it. The hotel is beachfront (and what a cracking beach!) and most of the accommodation faces the sea. Rooms/suites are traditional In style, clean, large and offer lots of little extras which make you feel special during your stay. Casa del Mar has the most fabulous staff, in all departments, who were kept safe during the pandemic and energetically look after the guests with their particular brand of laid -back style . . we love it, here! Of special mention are: Khai (the pool attendant who is quietly ‘on the go’ all day long, ‘Half-Half’ (the happiest gardener I have ever had the pleasure to meet), Elynne the uber-calm Office Manager and her team, The Three Musketeers (M, Que and Mood) and the wonderful Halim and all The La Sal Team. If I had any constructive comments to make they would be 1) review the table lighting for the restaurant tables on the beach 2) promote your Spa Services more and offer a full range of services, including manicures and pedicures if possible 3) try to improve the consistency of the meals you serve - we had several repeats of dishes, during our 12 night stay, and the standard was variable. Finally, I would like to thank Fauzi and the management team and wish them every success in their efforts to overcome the challenges of the pandemic. I was saddened to see the impact of the last 2+ years on the wonderful Pantai Cenang Area and hope the authorities will support the area’s re-growth after the pandemic; we wish you well and look forward to visiting again to see this wonderful place thriving and prospering as much as it deserves. With grateful thanks from Gil and Andrea L xxx …
What a week! From the time we arrive we were welcomed by the staff to the time we left we were treated like old friends. The staff knew our names. The service was great. We enjoyed all our meals and snacks as well. We will continue to return as the staff just make our holiday every time. Went on a fun fishing trip organised by the staff and had a day out with a driver. Still plenty of time to relax by the pool, enjoy happy hour and appreciate the surroundings including the amazing sunsets!
We were a group of 8 ladies sharing 4 rooms. We had a friendly, warm and welcome on arrival and that’s exactly how it stayed the whole time we were there. If you’re thinking about booking then I would say ‘do it, you won’t be disappointed.
Since the moment I entered till the moment i left I enjoyed every minute in this resort. It is really expensive hotel and very booked all the time, I managed to reserve a standard room and maybe cheapest one, but I felt in it like in the very luxury large room, with luxurious large and soft bed and the balcony with chairs and - oh, what a view I had..! Palm trees sand veach, and the ocean... OMG.. Staff very welcomingm always smiling, big thanks and my best wishes to all them! I would like to make a special mention of turndown service - you come to your room ~8 p.m. I find soft jazz music turned on you tv, scented candle lit, on the your bed a small paper list with information about tomorrow's weathe and list of reccommended activities, also - fragrant invitation to thei spa center. A bottle of water with a glass put on the bead table, what more could you want! I love you, Casa del Mar, you made my short 3 days stay unforgettable! THANK YOU!…
Great staff, location and facilities. We were in touch with the concierge prior to arrival and they booked us a mangrove tour and also organised us a driver for another day of our stay. We enjoyed the spa as well. Pool is super clean and luxurious. Seemed to be a battle for the lounge chairs each day but, unlike most other guests, we were not inclined to just lie around all day. Drinks at the bar each afternoon was a good way to get travel tips from others and a great cocktail. It is walking distance to one of the main strips in Langkawi with plenty of food options. The food at the hotel is also good with a mix of western and Asian options. Nice breakfasts, good coffee and make sure to frequent the tropical fruit stand. Casa del Mar gets a lot of repeat business and we could see why.…
I cannot fault this hotel. I do not want to leave as we have had such a wonderful time in Langkawi and Casa del Mar. I was a little unsure how I’d feel having stayed at a large 5* hotel in Penang first which I loved but it surpassed all expectations. Our first impression was the tranquility. It is so lovely. The staff have got it just right. Extremely helpful but not pushy. A clever touch is the spin the wheel 5-7pm where you nominate a colour and spin the wheel 3 times and if you win get a free drink. Also at 7pm you put your glass on a colour and can win another drink. It really brings people together and it’s a great friendly atmosphere. It’s such a happy place looking out at the beautiful sea view. Breakfasts are great. Whatever you want. A man chops up fruit for you and you can have a cooked breakfast freshly made plus the usual. A lovely touch is the complimentary jug of iced water every day by the pool, fruit skewers and a vodka and coke or lime. Our room was good with everything we needed provided including tea and coffee and refillable biscuits, monkey nuts and a piece of fruit. The hotel is at the end of the beach and you walk out onto restaurant’s and shops. One thing I look for is things around the hotel and this ticked all the boxes. We ate at local restaurants and they were all really good. Further along there is Pizza Hut etc but it doesn’t spoil the experience of CDM. It’s near the airport but noise is not a problem. I wish we could take this hotel on our other holidays. Thank you.…
A second visit and with so many repeat visitors, it must tell it’s own story. It is a home away from home. A lovely boutique hotel next to beach. Staff were friendly and efficient and food was excellent. No children, good for those ‘oldies’ like me preferring the pool to be a leisurely experience without being ‘dive-bombed’ by kids! We did have a problem with our room but we’re quickly upgraded with minimum fuss. Absolutely love this place, thoroughly recommended.
