We have been returning to Varca Beach and this rental complex for over five years because it offers exactly what we need. As expats living in Delhi, we travel to Goa for peace and quiet, and the relaxing knowledge that we are in a safe and family friendly environment. As we sat outside the three bedroom villa we rented this time, we could hear the waves. We spent several lazy afternoons outside in the shade reading and enjoying the outdoor set-up. And although we usually are on the beach for sunset, the one evening I opted to stay home, I enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the master bedroom of the villa. The villa and the bungalows are just a short walk to the beach. We have always rented from Escape2Goa.com and the owners are on site, friendly and just plain nice people. They speak English and German and are always ready to answer questions. Varca is admittedly a quiet stretch of the beach, but that is exactly what we want. As an avid runner, I have taken advantage of this long stretch of beach early in the morning (over 20k when headed north) and felt very safe. There are enough restaurants and beach shacks and smalls stores to meet all your needs. This is a great spot for families. Varca Beach and especially Tarika Gold Coast Villas have been our home away from home in Goa and we will miss it when we leave India.

We had an amazing holiday at Tarika Gold Coast villas in Varca. All the villas here are very different and owned by different people. Our villa (a three bed villa) was spacious, rustic but clean. Beds were comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and a nice airy lounge area full of wooden, typically Indian styled furniture. We loved it. The pool area was a bit unloved but the one gardener, who looks after the whole site by himself, tries his best to water everything and to keep it tidy but it's a big job for one person. We loved the quiet location, yes there's only one amenity store and only one good restaurant nearby (The Ton-Cia, amazing food and great, friendly service) but we loved the fact that there were hardly any tourists here. The beach is only a ten minute walk away and is gorgeous. If you want to get away from all the tourists and want a step back in time/quiet holiday then Varca is the place for you.

We have just stayed in A2 a three bedroom house overlooking the pool, with a North facing balcony so it stayed cool and easily sits 6 people. The accommodation is basic but clean. The beds were very comfortable and a good size. AC in all the bedrooms and the living area, we also made good use of the washing machine. The reason it was so good was that it is quiet, so don't stay here if you want luxury and lots of night life. The distance to the beach is only 5 minutes and the beach at this point is not commercial, so quiet. You can walk 8 minutes North along the beach to some really decent beach shacks. We hired a car and found the driving wasn't as bad as imagined and it encouraged us to go further at night to some fantastic restaurants.

The villas B1 to B6 are ok ( air conditioning, wi-fi, TV, purified water ), but surely not « luxury » as described. On the opposite, the villas are old, basic and not clean ( with cocroaches and armies of ants ). During our stay, we had to face 3 water leaks : in the bedroom, in the kitchen and in the bathroom ! The only good point here is the large and nice swimming pool. The localization is not so good, because it is in the middle of nowhere, with just a Mini Mart, useful for basics. But even going by taxi to the bigger supermarket at Benaulim, it’s difficult to find enough food to cook. Furthermore, the kitchen equipment is very poor and old. And when you say to the owner that a basic tool is missing, his very kind answer was : « you just have to buy it by yourself ». In addition, we never met such an arrogant and agressive cleaning lady . If you want to go to restaurants, there is just 1 at walking distance ( Ton Cia ). For the others, you have to take a taxi ( 3 - 4 Eur per ride ). Varca beach is clean, but not the way to go there. As most of the people we met on the beach, we will never comme back there.

Stayed here for a month last year and have booked again this year. I made a mistake on the Villa number which should read C16 not T16. Great place near to beaches and local restaurants. Really looking forward to a relaxing month soaking up the local atmosphere.

We stayed for a month in Villa T16 which was a detached house consisting of ground and first floor with a double bedroom on each and three bathrooms in total. It was nothing fancy but a simple and clean dwelling, the kitchen was adequate although it was little used as we ate out all the time as the food is very reasonable being able have a meal for two for under £10 right up to £80. We had a housemaid visit every other day to change the bed linen and generally keep the place clean and tidy. The Villa is equipped with air con which was reliable if needed and wifi available on request and it is quite good. There is a television and DVD player that we didn't use as reading was the order of the day. This gated group of villas is quite dishevelled as some villas are not maintained and generally spoil the overall feel, the residents were mainly British, Russian or Indian. We used the swimming pool a few times which was well maintained although occasionally cloudy and sun beds were provided with sunshades. The beach is a ten minute walk down the road and right opposite the villas is a family with a couple of taxis which is useful and a lot easier and cheaper than hiring a car. We would certainly return to this location as it was very quiet and peaceful.

Stayed for 1 week in pool facing bungalow b4. Clean and comfortable with good facilities. Bed very comfy which is unusual for India. Very peaceful which was very much needed. Shop and restaurant close by with taxis available just outside. Beach 5-10 mins easy walk with beach shacks available. This area is quiet so depends what you are looking for but perfect for getting away from it all. Booking process simple with airport transfer included. Jimmy available for any queries and a chat.

Nice villa B2, well kitted out, opposite pool. Area was quiet and a taxi needed to get out and about, but the beach is only a 10 min walk away and has beach shacks with ok food. Very good value for the villa, good restaurants are a few miles away and a return journey by taxi costs about £6 , a meal in one of the better eateries was about £20 for two including drinks. Its not the place for people who want everything on the doorstep, but it is nice and quiet because of that
