Well, And start with what makes Sterling stand out is not the hotel itself as such, but the ideal location and value for money price it offers ,topped up with REALLY the BEST food you can have especially Indian/Goan delicacies. Not that it doesn't have good western/continental dishes so not dissuading foreigners as such.
Location : it's located about 500 mtrs from the entry of the Varca beach. The hotel per se has no views of the beach except for good breeze due to the proximity and flat green landscape. The best part about the location is that there are only 2-3 other hotels that are there on this beach and hence the crowd is just too less ,makes it a very secluded by and large.
Varca beach : it's a complete white sand beach and very empty ,hardly any shacks there which makes it lovely and clean. That's what is the bets part about this location. So a value for money stay near the beach is worth it. If u don't mind five star rates then you may want to go to a couple of others viz. Azaya or Zuri White Sands which are bang on beach but obviously expensive
Rooms : the rooms I would say are average, basic and nothing particularly critical or above average. It's made more for corporate or large groups
Service : the hotel was quite short staffed overall especially from room service perspective so the service , cleaning etc was not that good.
TIP: they don't give extra towels and pillows very easily rather as policy. So if u have extra needs then talk at the reception itself for such things.
Food : This is the best part of this place. They win a 11/10 for food literally. They make it fresh, variety is not bad and the taste is really what takes the pie. The prices are a bit high, say around 400/- per head if u go for full meals but I can vouch it's all worth it . Especially the fact that there are not many restaurants around, this takes care of all your food needs..even the breakfast is good so one doesn't need to really worry about going anywhere else. We actually did and came back to the hotel for rest of the days..
Price : we got the rooms for around INR 5.5K /night maybe due to off season and onset of the coronavirus but otherwise I believe it costs around 8k/night. As I said it's not bad for the location.
Overall a fabulous place for anyone . Has a basic pool and gym and activities area which takes care of the rest of the needs for all. Must go here.

I Visited here on 29 September. The rooms are clean and sanitized. Resort is very near to Varca beach about 0.7 Km.
This resort even has taken all the security measures required for the COVID situation. Staff is well trained. Everything is sanitized and all staff wears mask and gloves. Because of COVID situation Activity area, Swimming pool, gym etc are closed. It was good stay at Sterling Varca in terms of hygiene, safety and ambiance.
Staff is very polite and helpful. Restaurant provided tasty food and excellent service, the food menu, however is very limited due to the pandemic situation, social distancing is maintained. Want to mention some names from restaurant Mr Jayesh, Suvankar and Chef Sandeep provided tasty food and good service.
Wifi is only free for the first one hour and then they charge for the rest of the day.
If you are planning a visit to South Goa, I will definitely recommend the Sterling Varca.

Visited sterling goa varca during corona time , it's a beautiful and well maintained resort near varca beach ( beach is at a walking distance of 10 to 15 min). Most of the resort facilities ( gym, swimming pool, holiday activity, restaurant buffet) were shut due to less occupancy and scarcity of staff members but despite this the warmth and hospitality we got there was beyond our expectations and returned from there with bucket full of cherished memories. Safety n hygiene was at par without doubt , they have kept sanitizers at every accessible place, all staff is wearing mask n face shield and gloves. Smooth check in , there were literally no contact policy , pens were also sanitized with every use . They fumigate rooms n premises and sanitize all sitting areas of restaurant every 2 hourly. And oh boy , staff is so cordial , trained and well behaved. Front desk staff Neeraj and manager Vivian ( she is so friendly and charming lady become favorite of kids and tried her best to make our stay comfortable and memorable, activity centre was closed still she provided few indoor games in our room itself for kids ) , front gate guard Anil ever ready to make ur day beautiful with his childlike smile and last but not the least restaurant staff , they r real assets of the team restro manager Mr Jayesh , what a wonderful person he is , tried his level best to give us best services with very limited staff n resources , even managed mocktail , sandwich and pasta making classes for kids ( kids totally loved it ) , Nitesh, shuvankur , chef sandeep and all other members of restaurant were all good and one need a special mention is Aashish , kids gonna surely miss this guy , he pampered them like anything full filing all their demands , kids faces brightens whenever he comes for service . Room service staff Gulam Nabi and all others are very well behaved and helping. Thank you team sterling varca for making our family stay memorable and cherished one.

When we arrived we was immediately slapped with a NYE bill for around £70 to attend the NYE gala dinner which was compulsory to pay if you attended or not. It was in the small print so that was our mistake. We decided to attend the dinner as we'd paid for it and considering how much it cost we expected a swanky do with lots of lovely food. Again how wrong we was! The entertainment was so bad it was comical there were prizes for the lady with the longest hair, the lady with the biggest bag oh and a prize for a person that was wearing a particular coloured pair of socks. The solo singer was unbelievably bad (I think he was reading the words to the song from his phone, I videoed it if the HQ of Sterling would like to see??) to the point I felt sorry for him and I hoped for his sake and ours there was a power cut! Considering it was a NYE gala dinner the food was very average nothing special + we'd eaten better at the beach shacks. Breakfast was rubbish we tried it twice and decided it was not worth the effort or the pain of hearing the SAME yes the SAME Christmas song on a continuos loop. The lady on reception had NO customer service skills what so ever. When we arrived I asked if we could move rooms to a pool view (our view faced the main road, the taxi rank and the stray dogs) however, she told me the hotel was fully booked and she would let us know if one became available unsurprisingly, she didn't and unsurprisingly there were rooms available on booking.com!

Situated in a secluded place of Varca. Away from all hustle and bustle, perfect for a relaxed peaceful stay. Staff were really warm and the entire resort was well maintained The breakfast spread was decent and the quality was nice. The lunch/dinner was very nice. This is a two star hotel. I would NOT recommend that you stay here
The hotel lacked atmosphere, the gym facilities were poor. Wifi was not free which was initially a pain however, due to restaurants/shacks offering the service for free it was easy enough to pick up emails/messages, I never saw one person behind the bar. One night at 10.20 we required ice to take back to the room. We were told the bar closed at 10.30 we said well its 10.20 then there answer was it closes between 10 and 10.30. We did get the ice but this is the attitude you was constantly faced with unhelpful/uncooperative. The friendliest person at the hotel was the security guard where we parked our scooter. Basically we hired a scooter straight away as due to the non existent service we aimed to spend the least amount of time in this hotel as possible! I booked the hotel based on the good reviews BUT I am SURE they are not legit and I plan to contact Trip Advisors to express my concerns. Myself and my partner have travelled all over the world and stayed in various hotels ranging from 2 to 6 stars the 'good comments' about this hotel do not reflect our experience and suspect they are not . I have stayed at 4* hotels in Goa and this is the only one I would not return back to and I would not stay at another hotel in this chain. Note how many reviews the majority of excellent reviewers have posted one or two. We could not leave quick enough!

We have stayed at many of the Sterling properties and have always experienced good service. But our latest stay was different because of the Covid situation. While being friendly, the staff at no point ignored safety. Everyone had to have their temperature checked and noted every time they went out and returned and sanitizers were placed at all required places including outside of lifts. The best no contact formalities I have seen so far. In spite of the discomfort of masks and shields, there was always a friendly smile and greeting from everyone. Vivian made us feel at home, Neeraj at the front desk ensured that all our needs were met, Shivankar in the restaurant went out of the way to make sure my daughter got her choice of food. Thank you and hoping to visit again soon.

My family and I stayed at the resort for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff was extremely warm and was very attentive to the smallest of details. The food at the resort was really good no matter which cuisine one ordered. The rooms were big and spacious with private balconies. Every evening they had fun activities like housie etc that kept the family entertained. For the kids they had a huge play area where they were spending their time. The beach was also very convenient to get to by foot. In all it was a great place. Sure to go back.

I am a member of Sterling and this was my second time at Sterling Varca resort. I travelled during COVID time and as everyone would expect, I too was looking for a well sanitized stay. Sterling Varca ensured their premises are well sanitised and all the chairs and tables were also cleaned with sanitizer.
Coming to staffs... they are the most generous guys I have met. Jayesh, Avijit, Suvankar and his team were extremely helpful and made us feel like home. A good chain of hotels need these kind of employees to retain their members. I must say, it’s a place to happily enjoy a well deserved vacation 😊
