Joined a land tour in Iceland and they have arranged for us to stay in this hotel. It was the down period and hence not much people staying here. Nice views with a quiet environment. Although we were the only few people staying in the hotel, the hotel staff make sure we are comfortable. Knowing we are chasing the northern...

We stayed here for two nights on our trip round Iceland. Our room was very clean and pleasant with a view over the lake. The breakfast room was a conservatory, also with lovely views over the lake, and a great choice for the breakfast buffet of good quality food. It was very busy when we were there with American tour...

This is a lovely hotel in a lovely location. The food was great though during our visit the only option was the buffet which for English people is currently pretty pricey. We decided to treat ourselves. Your only other option (out of the very main season) is to drive into town - which is some 15 mins away by car.

I've heard that the people in Iceland are some of the nicest. That's been my experience, except here. The receptionist was just... unfriendly. As if she didn't like her job. She seemed annoyed at having to help us. And that left me with a bad feeling of this place. Other than that, the hotel was fine enough. Small but nice...

Set in an an isolated forest location, with beautiful views. The Staff are friendly and welcoming. There is a great Indian restaurant for dinner, highly recommended! Sadly no lunch available, but breakfast a good spread. The rooms are modern, clean and warm. We had a fantastic view of the Northern lights the night I was there.

Probably the best location for a comfort/budget hotel in Iceland. In the middle of one of the few remaining forested areas in Iceland, near a lake, with a nice view. Rooms are small but comfortable, and the personnel was very helpful. The best rooms are the ones near the reception, fist and second floor. Breakfast is excellent. I was gladly...

Stayed here 2 nights on a rainy stretch during out September visit as a break from camping. Nice rooms w hardwood floors, great shower. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Designer hot tub. Short drive to the waterfalls. If you don't want to eat in the hotel (Indian restaurant is good) Egilsstaddir is only 25km away and cafe Nielssen highly recommended.

This hotel is located in the largest forest in Iceland in a beautiful location. Our room was in the older part of the hotel (the reception area and some rooms appear to have had a makeover but not our part. There is no lift, the information in the room was stuck to the inside of the folder, there's no local...

Stayed in the renovated school wing of hotel. Room was very small (even by Icelandic standards). Bathroom sink small and inadequate with no shelf space for toiletries. Nice view overlooking river. Breakfast was very good but eat dinner away from hotel as it is very expensive . Staff very polite and helpful.

We could not find fault with this hotel which is located in a quiet forested area overlooking the nearby lake. Our room was located in a very new part of the hotel and was beautifully furnished in a minimalist style. Large windows overlooked the lake. The meals that we had here were probably the best we had during our two...
