Wow, wow , wow what beautiful apartments! The family run apartments are outstanding. The apartments are clean, exceptionally well maintained and traditionally beautifully furnished. The outdoor door area is pleasing to the eye too. Traditional well maintained garden and swimming pool was so lovely to return back to after a long day sightseeing.
Our apartment had the balcony overlooking the mountains and what a view!
Andreas and Simoni the owners are exceptionally kind, thoughtful and helpful hosts.
On arrival we were welcomed with cold drinks and a warm greeting.
A supply of essential foods were placed in the fridge along with home made jam and local wine to welcome us too. On our departure a gift was given to us.
Their local knowledge was very appreciated and a walk around the village to see the local craft shop and history of the village was offered.
I cannot express how wonderful our stay was and have booked again for our next visit.

Charalambos Holiday Cottage is an excellent choice of accommodation in a great village. Andreas is an excellent host and exceeds what one would expect of a host of a holiday rental property. He was continually attentive to ensure that we were comfortable and welcome. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and the location perfect ( recognizing that we had a vehicle).
We consider ourselves to be experienced travellers and felt that the facility that Andreas has built is one of the best that we have had the fortune to utilize.
Thanks Andreas

Charalambos cottages are located in a charming village called Kalavasos, the village has 4 restaurants to choose from. Andreas the owner of charalambos cottages is an excellent host and full of information about the local area. Our accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Charalambos has a lovely garden with plenty of sun loungers around a nice small swimming pool, pool towels are provided and changed on request, the whole experience of staying at charalambos cottages was fantastic for us both and we will be returning in 2022.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Charalambos Holiday Cottage.
What a find, facilities in the apartments are all you need and more.
Andreas and Simoni are so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful.
Kalavasos is a lovely village with a couple of tavernas and a cafe in the square which is a short walk away.
Ideal for the coast between Larnaca and Limassol with their lovely beaches.
We had a car so Paphos and Troodos Mountains were also easily reached.
Looking forward to returning.

Set in the heart of the village the Charalambos Holiday Cottages are an excellent place to stay. We can endorse all the comments made in the earlier reviews. The hospitality was second to none. Early email correspondence was fast and efficient, with all questions answered ahead of our arrival. Andreas gave us a warm welcome after our long journey to Cyprus. He gave great recommendations about where to visit and where to shop and eat in the locality. I am sure that the charismatic Charalambos (Andreas’s father) will pop round to say hello on the morning after your arrival. He will be happy to walk you through the citrus grove adjacent to the cottages.
The description of the cottages on the website is entirely accurate. The family have made a first class job of refurbishing the buildings. Great care and attention has been given to every detail. For a short holiday let or a longer stay, the cottages are well equipped for all aspects of self catering, at all times of the year.

We are not perfect but we try a lot to offer the family kind of hospitality that Cypriots are proud of. Most of our guests want to get away from being simple "tourists" but "visitors" wishing to explore Cyprus and its people. All the kind guest comments further motivate us to try and be better.

We chose this place due to its perfect location (35-40 km to Limassol and Larnaca) and a high rating - we were very content with what we got.
Myself, my spouse and 2 kids (7+ and 3+ years old) were staying in the unit #2 "Anthousa" for 5 nights. There are 2 spacious rooms in it, fully equipped and very convinient kitchen, double bed room and cosy beds for the kids. Everything in the unit is kept very clean due to the hard-working and friendly staff. There's a small cool pool outside and wi-fi free-of-charge internet.
The owners of the venue are very very friendly with a lot of willingness to help you with anything.
The special atmosphere Andreas, Simoni and Charalambos make cause you to return to this place again.

One of the best place in which I have ever stayed:
HOSPITALITY… 10+
Andreas and Charalambos, the owners of the cottages are amongst the most hospitable people I have ever found in my long experience travelling around the world. They do really take care of their guest and pamper them with nice complimentary gifts – fresh fruit in the morning from their garden, a bottle of white that you suddenly find in your fridge, a glass of Zavaria when you come back in the evening after dinner. They did even invite me and my girlfriend to join them for lunch at our arrival (wonderful homemade moussaka prepared by Andreas´ wife on top of Greek salads, fresh lemonade and ripe juicy fruit) and have been a precious source of information and tips to really enjoy the island
Andreas has been living for a while abroad, he is fluent in English (as most Cypriots) and you can tell that he is very proud of his country as well as very open to all cultures. He consciously decided to come back to his native country to wire his family to Cypriots roots. He has been an incomparable source of information about Cyprus history and culture. We really enjoyed talking to him and learning about his life and exchanging thoughts on very general topics. His motto is “Being around the guest, not on top of them!”
LOCATION…. 9
The village of Kavalasos is centrally located in Cyprus and it´s definitely a nice starting base to explore the whole island with a car. The village is very quiet and picturesque and has got minimarket, bars and also couple of Traditional taverns that serve Cypriot/Greek food (you will find tourists there as well as a fair share of locals). The only piece of the island which a bit more far to reach is the north-western coast of AKAMAS, which is very beautiful and anyhow within 1 and an half hour driving distance (we easily did it during our stay).
COTTAGE… 10
Recently renovated the cottage is a great self catering accommodation. It is completely furnished, very clean, equipped with modern kitchen and decorated with traditional Cypriots elements. In the courtyard there are tables with umbrellas and also a small swimming pool with sun beds if you want to enjoy the sun and get a little refreshment when it gets too hot. The apartment is provided with all comforts such as blow-dryer, bath and beach towels, airconditioner and full set of kitchen tools. There are only few apartments in the whole structure so it never gets too crowded and it always feels very quiet, ideal to relax.
I can only highly recommend Charalambos cottage if you happen to visit Cyprus and want to get in contact with an amazing Cypriot family without giving up on comfort and relax during your stay

We have been travelling a lot in different countries, staying in different accommodations of all kinds, but this is the first time we received such a warm welcome and felt like home. If you look after a peaceful, comfortable and nice play to stay, far from the crowded and common touristic areas you must go there. You can even make friends with the lovely family owning the place!
There is everything you may want to have on holiday. Rooms with all expected equipment like flat screen tv + satellite, wifi, small kitchen, A/C bedrooms, nice furnitures, complimentary water, sodas, oranges to squeeze. Location with superb renovated walls, comfortable sun beds, swimming pool, tables and chairs, garden with grass and beautiful flowers etc. We were 2 couples: one in upper room with a nice terrace where enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. The other in ground room with a nice open fire (not usable however). Web had the opportunity to visit the 2 other ones: one with separate living room and bed room (can be suitable for a family), the other (upper) with nice decoration as well. All with same facilities.
The village is being renovated as well (even if the ‘big place’ is not yet finished). We thought it will become even nicer in a couple of months. Already walking in the small streets of this village (1000 K people) is enjoyable. There are a least 3 places where you can eat (at the entrance of the village the ‘Bridge taverna’ serves very good traditional food, (Tenta Taverna’ near the big place with each night something different). You have also a minimarket (bigger ones exist in 5 kms area). You can have a local ‘Keo’ beer on the big place in the middle of local people. You can also eventually ask for a Mojito to Paul in The Tenta Taverna.
The location is very central : 20 mn from Limassol Center, 30 mn from Larnaca airport, 5 mn to the sea and the beach, 45 mn to Troodos moutains for walking or (even) skiing (in winter).
Of course renting a car is necessary but it is cheap in Cyprus (with Ryan Air you have special prices but this is even cheaper via other channels).
Last but not least: the cottage is very good value for money! What else can you dream about?
thank you for all Andreas and Somini, we will not forget you!

We had a superb weekend in Oct 2011 in Kalavassos at Charalambos Holiday Cottage. Family run - brand new - and superbly situated in the heart of Cyprus where the old copper mines were. Even the first locomotiv in Cyprus is still there. Fruit trees all around you in the village with nice smells from the flowers. Good room including all you can wish. Pool outside your door step - you can have your morning coffee in the sun shine. Not only copper mines but also famous archeological sites such as Choirikoitia and Tenta and many more are just around the corner. The very pleasant landlords Simone and Andreas will help you find good fish restaurants in Zygi /swim in the sea or good wineries close by. Well worth a stay for a week during which you really can probe Cyprus. And you will long back to Cyprus! /Johan, Sweden

Hey Jason, my recommendation is to rent a car to get the best from Cyprus. As you will be going in October it is perfect for swimming (it will be nice and warm in the sea), but also for sightseeing (it shouldn't be prohibitively hot) - I recommend Kalymnos (Governers) for a local swim, but you may also want to venture further. Larnaka is a nice town to look around, as is Lemesos, especially the old town and promenades in both cases. Visiting Nicosia is also highly recommended. The west of the island has some great beaches, and the joy of a car is you can stop at them at whim. And the birthplace of Afrodite (Petra tou Romiou), just off the main motorway to Pafos, is amazing at any time of day but especially sunset.
Enjoy Cyprus!
If you do try to use the buses, there is one a day to Lemesos (Limassol), leaving at 0900 and returning at 1530 - cyprusbybus. com / RouteDetails.aspx?id=268 (bus 95).
cyprusbybus. com / RouteDetails.aspx?id=137 (bus 401) goes around the local villages, including Zigi where you will find fish restaurants (the best is Santa Elena).
