Accommodation is typical blockhouse, (hostel) basic, utilitarian. There are no refreshment facilities in the room. Meals are superb, but in a separate restaurant building. The restaurant is open for 5 days only (Closed Monday & Tuesday). Price is set at a 3*/4* Hotel level.

Situated in the idylic "get away from it all" village of Habkern, our accommodation for 7 nights at the Landgasthof Baren offered the wooden rustic charm we had been hoping for. We spent a long weekend in Habkern (3 couples) to go hiking in the area and stayed at the Hotel Baren. It was better than what I expected, the rooms were simple but clean and comfortable with free wifi and a very nice view of the mountains. Hotel Bären is a typical Swiss chalet in a small mountain village about 10 minutes drive from Interlaken.
