We hosted our wedding at Castello di Modanella in June this year and cannot recommend it highly enough - both as a beautiful holiday location and as a venue for special events. We had the best weekend of our lives, and castle manager Fabritzio made everything so seamless for us and our 84 guests, who stayed at the castle for... More

There are many beautiful places in Tuscany but Modanella is way above "the rest". The castle is spectacular, the flats beautiful and well equipped with everything one needs on a relaxing holiday in the countryside. The restaurant is excellent and so is the wine. The personell is very helpful and professional. We will come back next summer, maybe even sooner.

This wonderful place is more justly compared to the popular agriturismo of the area than a traditional hotel. We were staying at the 'Sanita', a property off the main castle with a stunning view of the lake and the old castle in the background. As we are a small family, we stayed in in a nice appartment with a living... More

Recenty travelled to Modanella for a wedding and whislt the wedding itself was lovely, Modeanella was so dissapointing. The rooms were basic at best and did not have suitable self catering facilities. Dimly lit with no cleaning service during the week we were there. Staff at the castle were unhelpful

I got married here this August and I have to say it was the most amazing wedding, obviously I'm biased but all the guests only had great things to say!! The Castle itself is beautiful and views are amazing! We saw lots of venues in Tuscany and this was by far the best. I am so pleased we went with... More

We stayed as part of a large group however didn't realise the distance or terrain separating the houses, Bear Grylls would have been challenged. The restaurant was closed on our arrival night and there is nothing really close by. The accommodation is basic, the shower wasn't great and the hot water was temperamental. The receptionist was also rather rude.

Recently stayed here for 4 days as a wedding guest. It was amazing and accommodates everyone's needs. The only fault was their breakfast for gluten free was pretty poor so ended up picking up a few things at the supermarket and catering my own breakfast vs the castle option. Great location tucked up on the Tuscan hillside and central for... More

We stayed only 1 night, as I needed a break from Siena. The staff was very polite and accomodating. We just returned from a wedding event at Modanello. The place is down a dirt road off the highway between Bettole and Siena. We were lodged in a cluster of buildings about 1 KM from the main castle. The rooms were basic but large without aircondioning. The wedding accommodations were fine, as was the food. The problem is that was... More

It not hard to rate Castello de Modanello excellent! Even for a Scandinavia - we don't hand out top grades easily! My wife, 3 children and I, will be going to Modanella for the 10th time this year. My son have celebrated every single birthday - except his first - there in July, and our 17 year old teenager talks... More
