From the moment we walked in we felt cared for and comfortable. Staff here are excellent never passing you without a hello / can I help you. The Guinness was good and the food also tempting me into areas I would not normally go. The room was quite small and a but old furniture but the bathroom exceptional with its...

We recently stayed in room 3 and found that the fire detector on the ceiling was hanging off. I thought that I would bring this matter to everybodys attention since the company have not got back. Also the headboard was worn and ripped. On the plus side the staff at breakfast and bar staff were very helpful. And would stay...

Went on recommendation sat 11 march for my partner's birthday. At least 50% of menu unavailable. Chose fish platter in desperation. Arrived completely over cooked. Inedible. Partner's food not good either. Service not great. Accepted a discount of 25% off bill after refusing a free coffee. What a let down!!!!

I stayed two nights at the beginning off Feb. The staff were helpful and friendly. The accommodation was clean and not flash - just what I was looking for. The evening meals were very pleasant and the breakfasts very good. The beer in particular was great and on the Monday night the bar got very boisterous - but it did...

Had lunch just after Christmas by chance as venue we had intended to eat was closed. Then had baked haddock gratin which was lovely. Returned today to sit in their comfy armchairs by the open fire and we had fish and chips for £5.69. Large skinless, boneless battered cod with lovely chips, peas and tartare sauce. Bottle of wine under...

We were a large group staying for 3 nights and the staff at the Woolpack looked after us exceptionally well! The food and drink were sensibly priced and those on duty (Amy, Tina, Leane, Natasha etc.) did a superb job of putting up with us all with good humour and a smile. They even went out of their way to...

We were visiting my folks in a local care home and intended to repeat the visit the following morning so needed a bed for the night in the immediate area. I was originally prepared to stay at a Travelodge or Premier Inn locally but would inevitably have eaten at The Woolpack, being the only decent restaurant for miles around so...

Our first visit. We had asked for a table for four in a quiet corner and our request was cheerfully met. This proved an ideal venue for a meal and an extended chat with friends. Good range of choice on menu, fair prices, very friendly service. Thoroughly recommended.

Good sized room in a lovely country pub. Nice breakfast included. Good value. Only downside was the heating, despite turning all radiators off and opening the windows, the room (and hotel as a whole) was too hot.
