We have just returned from here on the 20/7. We were there to celebrate my husband's retirement and a lovely bottle of wine was placed in our room which was a lovely touch . I have to say it it is a lovely complex only 21 apts which I believe ground floor and 1st floor have been refurbished with the top floor being completed for next year. We were in no 13 which was very spacious and roomy and has been renovated to a great standard. Arriving about 11 at nite we were greeted by Angelo who looks after the pool bar very well he offered to cook for us at that time of nite but we got water and unpacked a few things by this time it was near midnight and we went to the bar to try the Ouzo after 2 or 3 it was bedtime and Angelo got us the remote for the air conditioning which was kind as the room was hot being locked up all day. The manager visited us the next morning and we paid 5 euros s day for the air con we were there for two weeks and little tax charge and we decided to have a safe as well so it was an additional outlay but worth it. The walk down to the town is down a small road just need to take extra care at nite. There are restaurants pubs and supermarkets on the main street from full a la carte to ribs n chicken. We loved the beach. 8Euros for two beds and parasol with waiter service on the beach we used Moby Dick and Buca to eat and full toilet facilities which were kept well. The sea was warm and very refreshing. The Iris bar which you pass on the way has tribute acts of Robbie Williams Blues Brothers Rod Stewart and a quiz if you want some entertainment. All in all we had a fabulous two weeks and it is definately worth a visit and we shall be returning some time soon. Thanks to all for a great holiday.

Very friendly and hard working staff, great rural location,10 mins from seafront, nice pool.
our room on top floor was dark and small, lacking in some basic kitchen equipment, such as sieve, colander, only 1 saucepan, no chopping board.
shower could do with a hook,so you can stand under it.
Good location.great food.
would I go back..
Yes!!
it just needs a bit more attention to the rooms.
Conclusion..Basic and very friendly.

Tip.. we hired bicycles from Dennis bikes in Centre of Alykes, 40 euros for the two of us for the week, a great way to get around.

Was here 30th July for one week. Yes this is a two star plus rating so we knew what we would get after visiting this island on and off for 27 years, however, this place was a fantastic place to stay for a week. We were placed on the top floor (3 floors) and the room was very clean and exactly what we needed to rest our heads. The balcony was a big let down as it was so tiny but we soon got over that. The shower was also tiny so the bigger person might not find it not so easy to shower. But overall we were happy with the room. We went bed and breakfast and so glad we did. The breakfast every single morning was fantastic! Full English breakfast went down a treat. The family who run the bar work so incredibly hard and made our holiday feel more special. The meals are great, the drinks are too and the service is brilliant. We couldn’t thank the family enough for everything they do. The manager is a lovely lady who gave us all the details we needed when we arrived and asked us every day if everything was ok. Every Wednesday is BBQ night at the studios. I am not usually bothered about BBQs but we stayed for the four/five course meal which was 18 euros and we were so glad we did as it was the best night of our holiday. The food was plentiful, way too much food for us (for a change) and the dancing to the Greek music was hilarious. The quality of the BBQ was fabulous especially the homemade Greek dessert. We would go back there again? Yes, we would even though we usually stay four star, we wouldn’t hesitate to go back here.

I will start with what I really loved about our one week stay at Gianni's. I absolutely loved the view looking over mountains at the back of our studio room on the top floor. It was just gorgeous! The room was very spaceous with plenty of storage and I liked the wooden beams on the celing. The pool was very clean and the bar staff were very friendly and attentive. I really liked Alykes and the location was not too far from the beach/restaurants although having your transport to just nip to there was a lot more handy!!

The main issue with our room (top floor studio) was that we found the the bed and pillows to be very hard and uncomfortable. This is personal preference but for us it meant that we did not sleep well and this impacted our holiday. This was the most uncomfortable bed I have experienced traveling and I've stayed in a lot of basic accomodation. We also had some issues with the air con dripping on the floor at night which woke us up in the night and wet our suitcases and clothes. We were then told that we needed to empty a bottle outside when it was full. The staff seemed to thnk we should have known this and never appologised for our inconviences when this should be checked daily by the cleaners. A bit of empathy and a appology would have gone a long way. There were also some handles missing on the drawers (sharp screws left in) and the bathroom was very basic and in need of a deep clean...for the limescale on the taps etc. In all we were disappointed in the quality of the room as we were expecting a comfortable basic room but what we got was uncomfortable and below 3 star quality. For what we paid I would expect the basics to be perfect. We really loved our holiday
but it was just a shame the room was lacking.

The best studio I have stayed in in Greece. It had been recently refurbished so there were no sounds from the fridge or aircon and the shower did not leak all over the floor. The pool is a good size and lovely and clean. Angelos and Leda (sorry if that’s spelt incorrectly) worked their socks off and were very helpful. Loads of restaurants within a short walk as is the beach.

This hotel is really not suitable for anyone who is after a comfortable and quiet place to stay. It is very much suited to those who want to party until gone 2am. It’s a highly residential area set back from the main bars and many locals expressed to us that our experience was not unique and it is a long standing problem with the noisy bar open until when ever it likes.

The rooms on the top floor are extremely tiny, the balcony was un-usable they are so small (photo included). The shower is also extremely tight (bathroom photos included). The kitchen is run down and our fridge / freezer turned off when the electricity fob was removed. The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable.

We never saw any evidence that the room was cleaned (mopped / surfaces wiped) during our 10 night stay. We had 1 bedding change the entire time and the towels were swapped on day 5 and 7 and our bath mat never changed. Our next door neighbours also talked to us to see if we had clean towels as they were expecting them after talking to staff but had none. It also took 4 days for the bins (including the bathroom bin) to be emptied. We have holidayed in Greece many times and due to the restrictions on flushing paper this is usually done every 1/2 days. It was not pleasant!

I would only recommend this place if you expect very basic facilities and either want to party all night or can sleep through anything. Certainly never request a high floor room!

Lovely small apartment complex.
Just a 10 minute walk to the centre of Alykes.
Great pool bar area serving food all day at very reasonable prices.
Rooms are a good size and have all the basics required. We were on the top floor which had very tiny balconies which was such a shame as there was barely enough room for two people to sit out there. If I visited again I would request first or ground floor room for that reason as it was the only negative we had with the apartments. Lots of steps to the top floor also so this may cause a bit of an issue for some people.

Sun loungers around the pool could do with updating , but again it wouldn’t prevent us from returning, or recommending the apartments.

We paid for air con and a safe … we definitely needed the air con as it was very hot!
Great week away in great apartments, Angelo who runs the bar does a fab BBQ which I would recommend… vast quantities of lovely food, meats, salads, breads etc , all for only 17euros a head!

The beach at Alykes is lovely, we definitely recommend visiting ….only 10euros for two loungers , parasol n table. Waiter service on the beach …4.50 euros for bottled Mythos we thought was very reasonable!
Would we return to Giannis…yes !

Tomorrow is our last day of a two week stay at Gianni's. Apartments are clean and comfortable with good showers and are well maintained. The fact that a lot of people return here speaks volumes. We would recommend and return ourselves. Angelo and the cleaner both work all day every day and are friendly and helpful. There's a lovely little bar/cafe on-site and we never had a bad meal and the prices are very reasonable, full English breakfast including tea/coffee, orange juice, 2 slices of toast with jam is 7.5 euros. The walk down to the beach and shops is mainly without pavements so if you have small children be prepared, it's about a ten minute walk. Lots of lovely restaurants in the resort our personal favourite was Fidelio food was gorgeous and lovely staff there.

We spent a week here recently. We received a warm welcome from Giannis and Angelos despite our two hour delay and time of night and we were even able to order a snack to eat and a drink.
The apartments were as expected for rural Greece and although basic were clean. My only gripe was the beds were extremely hard ( I like a firm bed)but wow not this hard!! I actually felt bruised so be warned if this is not to your liking.
Angelos and his wife could not do enough to make you welcome and food and drinks offered were to a good standard.
It’s a ten minute walk down to the main strip so these studios are in a pretty good location if you like it quiet. Don’t expect too quiet however as the local cockerels do like to make themselves heard starting at around 4am haha

Arrived early July, never stayed here before but we have been to Zante a fair few times before, and we were greeted by the lovely hotel manager, Vaso.? So welcoming and very attentive! All of the staff that work here, work so very hard and are so pleasant and attentive! We required a car as we had a meeting the following morning, Vaso sorted this no problem and the car was waiting for us at 09:00 the next morning.
The rooms are basic, we stayed on the top floor - views are nice, but the balcony is incredibly small! The room served its purpose as a place to sleep but no frills as such. The bathroom is decent, however, the shower - very small!
The food served at the hotel is so good! We were B&B and breakfast everyday was delicious! We only had one dinner here, again, delicious and served piping hot!!
The pool, pretty decent, a nice area to sunbathe and very clean! Just beware of the wasps! What a nightmare they are!
It’s a lovely little quiet hotel and a short walk to the main area of Alykes.
I’d stay here again!

Hi,it is a bit of a walk in to the resort from Giannis but if you take your time it's not too bad, you can always get a horse and carriage from the centre of Alykes back (around 10 Euros). Not sure about the vegetarian menu but if you ask Angelos who does the food I'm sure he will sort it out for you he's a great guy. Enjoy your stay.
