Two weeks staying at the koukounaria, after initial hiccup, due to room allocation, not what we had booked., Michael on reception, quickly sorted out the problem ,our room was first class, many thanks Michael.it made our holiday so much better, cannot find any negative things to say about our stay. breakfast very good, lots of choice, pool area excellent, very relaxing, will be coming again, highly recommend this hotel.thanks again for a very enjoyable stay
Once again an excellent holiday. Staff very helpful and accomodating Facilities especially pool fabulous. Hotel is situated close to all the local bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the beach.
Just returned home after staying here for a weeks relaxation. We booked a Senior suite after seeing the lovely photos on the website, but be aware photos can be deceiving, not quite as good as we thought. Clean and spacious but despite saying all rooms had balcony with sea view we had a ground floor room with table and chairs basically on a path overlooking the “garden” consisting of a few trees not the view we had been lead to believe! We asked to be moved but was told they were full so very disappointed. Not worth the extra we paid. Housekeeping was hit and miss, often having to go to reception for coffee etc and on.a couple of occasions our towels had not been replaced so off again to reception! Breakfast was OK but nothing special. On the plus side the pool is lovely and very relaxing, but cannot take your own drinks, these must be brought from the pool bar so expensive. Some days the pool area had a bad smell coming from the drains, which was not pleasant. Most staff friendly and helpful. Good location, only a short 5 walk down to the restaurants and shops. Alykes is lovely with a nice sandy beach and some excellent restaurants. The resort seems be be full of older holidaymakers who have been coming sometimes 3 times a year for the past 20 years, so it’s got a ‘ex pat’ vibe to it. Definitely not a party resort!!! Would we return? Probably not, nice hotel but expected it to be better.…
This was our 4th stay at the koukounarnia suites and apts in Alykes. Well what can isay it was absolutely lovely as always. We were upgraded to a royal suite which was amazing, spectacular views over the pool, mountains and even a sea view. The lino restaurant was good, a variety of different 3 course menus each night at a good price. The staff were very attentive and friendly and our room was cleaned every day. I would recommend this hotel, apartment accommodation highly. A short walk to the beach and main drag of bars and restaurants.
We had the best holiday here, first time to Alykes, the hotel is lovely it’s really relaxed vibe and you don’t have to rush for a sunbed! The views from the pool are stunning, we were B&B the breakfast was nice lots to choose from, we ate from the snack bar which was lovely food. The hotel is 5/10 mins from all the shops/bars and restaurants, we ate out in quite a few they were all really good especially dennis diner and in fidelo the food was amazing. We will defo be returning to this area and hotel again.
We stayed in the hotel for a week with my family - wife and 2 children - in July 2022. The hotel itself is not very new, but nice and cozy. There are many high pine trees around. The beach is in 10 minutes walk. And the way to it is not very convenient - along the car lane, with almost no shade. We booked Royal suite. The room was quite big, well equipped, with the large balcony. The breakfasts were diversified enough. We also enjoyed the dinners - there was good variety of tasty dishes. And the overall atmosphere was very nice as well. However I have to admit couple cons: 1) a little bit slow and not stable wifi 2) weak water pressure in the shower. In the evening there was practically no hot water in the bathroom. I would also mention the staff, which was very friendly and responsive. I do recommend staying with Koukounaria.…
Just finished a week long holiday here. Lovely hotel and good location. 5 min walk (if that) to beach and bars/restaurant. The room was clean and nice size. They came in each day and made the bed, refreshed the towels etc. We had a sea view balcony which was lovely. The pool was a lovely size. There was always sun beds available, and a parasol for every 2 beds so you could always get in some shade. This was a big game changer not having to fight for a sun bed. We came during the start of the ‘summer holidays’ but the hotel never seemed packed. It was a nice chill vibe, with a mixture of family types. Breakfast was enjoyable. A big selection of food but you can’t take any food away for later (rightly so in my opinion). We also had lunch at the hotel on one of the days which was very tasty. The staff were all great and very welcoming. The waitering staff were the same 3 throughout our stay, which meant they got to know us a bit. It’s the little things like them remembering your coffee order that makes you feel much more at ease in the hotel! The staff couldn’t do enough for you and always had a smile on their face. If you’re one for a big night life then you won’t find this in the hotel itself. The parade/strip (4 min walk, one straight road from the hotel) is great with a big variety of restaurants and bars. One restaurant to defiantly try is Fidelo! Overall the whole experience has been great. Nothing was too far away from the hotel, all the staff were great and the room and general hotel facilities were clean.…
This was our second visit to this hotel, we have stayed in numerous hotels and apartments in Alykes and Alykanas and this is the best. The breakfast offers a good selection, the staff are very friendly, the pool is large and there are plenty of sunbeds. There are lots of bars and restaurants near by and Zante town is worth a trip if you hire a car. Our one tip (unrelated to the hotel) is do not use Zante Car Services. This company is located just round the corner from the hotel and offers car rental and day trips. We hired quad bikes and had a terrible experience. Firstly, the staff arrived an hour late, so we were stood outside waiting, but had already put down a €50 deposit so didn't want to leave and go elsewhere. One of the bikes broke down and when the man came to fix it he tried to blame us. He couldn't fix it by the road so we had to go back to his shop, where we stood for an hour whilst he and another man tried again to fix the problem. As time was passing we asked what was wrong as they didn't know. We suggested that we maybe leave it and asked for a partial refund as we still had the evening left and the bikes weren't due back until the following morning. This is when he became very angry, confrontational and aggressive. It ruined our evening, we didn't get to go to Zante town for our meal and we were quite shaken up by his attitude, not to mention out of pocket given he refused to refund us. Do not use this company!…
Staff at first place - they cared so much of us, every day smiling even they had rush time everyday. Thak you for that. Food - we usually pick just breakfasts in hotels. It would be great mistake to miss served dinners here. Excellent food. Rooms - clean and comfy sleeping. Location of hotel - in the center of island and in town with lots of services. Summary - we got everything for best holiday. Special thanks to staff
We stayed for one week, a shame it was not a month! We had a junior suite with the best see view ever. The whole hotel was spotless as always, breakfast amazing with every taste catered for, evening meals varied and of high quality. All staff are so kind and professional thank you to you all, hope to see you next year if covid allows us to travel to your beautiful island.
