Duration of stay: 24-Apr-2022 to 27-Apr-2022 Good things about Bella Height 1. Rooms are spacious and view is amazing if you select premium rooms 2. Market is walking distance. Dalai Lama temple is very close Improvements needed: 1. Food - very limited and same options daily for breakfast. Lunch/dinner options are same that you get in any metro cities, but we did not find food so great. If you are booking online through some 3rd party (like makemytrip, hotels.com etc.) they will show that hotel is full and last 1-2 rooms remaining and rates will be high. I think we paid almost 3 times per night than what we should have paid to stay at Bella (close to 7K per night whereas hotel is not worth more than 2-3K per night). And all rooms were vacant except 1-2. So do not fall pray to such gimmicks. Will I stay at Bella Height again? - No. There is better options in McLeodganj and experience was not that great at Bella. Overall Dharamshala and McLeodganj experience - We visited McLeaodganj after our 4 days stay at Dalhousie. McLeodganj is amazing place and mini Tibet. Streets are lively full of tourists, different choices for food and local stuff. You must plan to visit to Monastery. We visited Norbulingka and it was the most peaceful place we have ever visited. It takes you to a different world. Nice Tibetan structure, culture and food. Almost all other site-seeing places are nearby only and you can choose your stay in McLeodganj instead of Dharamshala. The newly started rope-way takes you to Dharamshala in 10 minutes from McLeodganj. If you are planning to visit Dharamshala/McLeodganj, then 2-3 days are sufficient to cover all the spots. Make sure you add daily Cab in your travel plan and plan for it well ahead. Do not be dependent on hotel to arrange Cabs. You may feel you are paying unnecessarily to hotels. We paid 700/- just to book a cab at Bella and that too to personal number of hotel manager. Not sure if it went in his pockets or to the Cab driver. We paid to Cab driver separately for day long journey to different places around Dharamshala. Generally it will be around 2K per day. Then there on we found Cab drivers in McLeodganj market and planned our local or return travel to airports.

They mentioned they did not accept card payment although the terms and conditions on our confirmation specified card payment was accepted. They eventually pulled out a working card machine from under the table where we were able to make the payment. They simply wanted us to process payment through a means that suited them rather than us, (likely to avoid tax) something we really didn't appreciate. Following the fact that, their very unprofessional staff were fighting and playing around at breakfast and took more than half hour to deliver toast and coffee.. The bed rooms were not clean.. they did not have tissue in the bedrooms upon arrival or any water. I would never book with this hotel again. Please consider carefully when booking here.

Everything went good. Room was good.they allowed us early check in without extra charges. One thing we didn't like that despite asking multiple times they didn't.provide complementary tea bag and sugar. That is the only reason we have 4 stars. Other than that evrything went good. Restaurant at terrace has some mind blowing views.
