What made the stay absolutely special is the young woman who manages the place. She is overseeing everything from the morning til the night making sure you have everything you want or need. Also through her we knew what what going on in the Tibetan community which allowed us to take part in celebrations we might have missed otherwise. We spent lots of time as did most of the guests hanging out in the main reception/restaurant area or on the terrace. The hotel has rooms of various prices with different accommodations. We were in the most inexpensive rooms and we were perfectly happy. We loved the monkeys running across the balconies in the morning and seeing the sunrise over the mountains.
I had a clean room with TV. Nice, hot shower which never failed. Beautiful view off of the private balcony. Price is right for what they offer. Only frustrating thing was that my room was close to the main street, which can be quite noisy throughout the day.
One note, make sure to lock your doors and windows. Monkeys are looking for ways to break into your room and go through all your stuff. It's not an exciting experience.
Love the restaurant. I ate breakfast there almost every night and some lunch/dinners. Good diversity of food. Love the patio. I especially enjoy the couches inside for drinking coffee and reading my book.
I'd stay here again.
Stay here, you won't be disappointed!
