This is my Home away from Home in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala every year for countless years !
Very friendly boss and staff. Whether you plan to stay in Green Hotel or just walk in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, you will fee it is so comfortable to be IN there. An open secret is ... The fastest WIFI connection in the whole area ! Literally park myself at the cafe before I go for Tibetan class, after class. Friends can locate me at the cosy cafe most of the time. Suggest you choose valley view room, if you plan to stay there. Superb Italian cuisine, cheese cake, chocolate cake, carrot cake.... Enjoy your stay !

I have stayed here several times over the last ten years but this was my first time since the pandemic. This time I stayed for 10 days. Running a hotel must have been very difficult recently, so i hesitate to comment, but I don’t think they have quite got back to where they were.
My room was spacious, clean and comfortable but the bedding was a bit worn.
The staff are good - always friendly and helpful.
The food was good but it took a long time to prepare it and the choice was limited.
The cafe would be much improved by fitting a spring to close the door to the street. It was frequently kept open, which meant there were too many cold draughts, besides noise and fumes from the traffic outside.
These are fairly minor points and I expect the management will sort them out as life gets back to normal.

Mr Kunga and Mrs Dolma are friendly hosts and are well connected locally--they introduced us to good cab drivers and trek leaders. They were friendly throughout. The food at the cafe was great. The rooms were basic but very comfy - seemed among the better facilities among those near main square.

It's not a hotel but a slum.... Owner(sp.lady) is a devil... Doesn't know the customer service......only one word for this hotel is " pathetic".....JUST WANA SAY BAD ..WORST... N at last WORST EVER!!!!

Room is like a match box...not at all spacious, view like we are living in slums, broken balcony ,in bathroom not even basic amenities .staff behaving like stars but look like unhygienic sweepers . That's it . We have travelled around the world .. This was the worst place. Enjoy your stay.

I stayed in this hotel twice, in different occasion — simply amazing — in fact one of the best hotels in town. In my humble opinion, a hotel is not great because of the amenities and facilities it offers, but I think the hallmark goes to the staff who work round the clock to meet your needs. The view was great from the hotel; that’s how I would like to start my day. Food was great too; being an anytarian, I don’t pick on these things as long as I am served clean and well-cooked food. I would sit in the cafeteria and simply daydream thinking how happy the staff were, always singing and dancing around, and in the cute broken English they would ask each customer what they would like to order, and yes, the smile is fixed permanently on their faces.

Being located on the main road, sometimes I could hear drunken locals and tourists shrilling and howling on the road, but that never bothered me, because it didn’t happen regularly. The main square is around 200 meters from the hotel, the waterfall is around 1.5 miles, dal lake is around 3 miles, the monastery is approximately around 800 meters (in my opinion, if not shorter).

I love McLeod and when I return I sure will stay here again. Price value, pretty good. This isn't the cheapest hotel in the locality, but it's worth it.

First of all, I did not stay at Green Hotel and don't even intend to!
This was going to be my fifth trip to Mcleod and I booked a standard room at Green hotel through booking.com for 1200rs. We were 4 of us and we needed 2 rooms; one standard and one deluxe. So after making the booking for the first room, I called up the hotel to confirm it. A lady picked up and she told me, the deluxe rooms are all sold out. So i said, but i can see them available on booking.com. To which she rudely said, she has given the rooms personally to some guest and even if i book online, i can't stay.
I had no choice but to cancel the first room i booked. The cancelation policy of the hotel is, you have to pay the entire amount as cancellation. So i lost 1200rs there. I called her up again to talk about it, and she said, 'yahan baar baar phone mat karo' (don't call up again and again. This is when i was extremely polite to her and addressed her as 'didi'. I have stayed at quite a few hotels at Mcleod on my previous trips and have never faced such issues, be it a 1000rs room or a 4000rs one. This is totally ridiculous. Boycotting Green Hotel for good. I want my money back that they have taken from me and yet didn't allow me to stay.

Clean, comfortable, good location (a short walk to the sights), affordable. Scenic view over valley from bedroom. Two bed room large enough for both of us to unpack and not feel cramped. Good food and WiFi in restaurant. (WiFi sometimes works in rooms too.) Nice staff.

I cannot say enough about this hotel and the lovely family who run it. We initially stayed somewhere else, but due to complaints about the other place we moved to Nobu House (owner also owns Green Hotel). Wow, what an improvement! I loved it so much that I spent two additional weekends there even though I had paid to stay somewhere else.

The rooms are beautiful, the views are probably the best in McLeod Ganj, the food is fantastic (get the carrot cake for dessert) and the hospitality is amazing. The only other time I experienced such great care was when I stayed at the Four Seasons in Carlsbad. This family is amazing, and will go out of their way to make sure that EVERYTHING is perfect for you.

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful hotel and lovely family. If I am ever back in that part of India, there is no where else I would stay.

McLeod has more to do and more restaurants and places to stay than Dharamsala. It's livelier and, I think, more interesting. That said, however, it's also more touristy. So, depending on what you like.... Green Hotel doesn't have a parking lot but I think there were some cars parked on the road. However, the streets are rather narrow and full of cars and people. You might ask the hotel about parking.
