Easy access in Badrinath. Sarovar portico is located on main highway road, city starts from this hotel only as it comes in front.
Badri narayan temple is just 01 kms from here, it takes just 15-20 minutes by walk and car goes only half kms rest only by walk.
Hotel has good facilities like hot water, heating system and dining.
It has a bigger parking area.

We loved to stay here, we appreciate to all staff for making our stay comfortable, specially thanks to front desk team to give us all the information of nearby places.

Thanks, we love to visit again.

"We had a wonderful stay at Badrinath, enjoying beautiful rooms equipped with room heaters and warm mattress pads. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptional, complemented by the hospitality of the cordial staff, especially Uttam Kumar, Shivamogga, and Jaydeep. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Badrinath!"

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in October 2019.

The hotel is located very near the entrance to Badrinath as you drive up from Joshimath. The main Badrinath Temple is, however, too far to walk from the hotel. You definitely need a vehicle to go to the temple and the town.

The people at the reception counter were very helpful and friendly. It was rather cold during the time of our visit. So we asked for a room heater, but the heater they gave us was not very effective. However, what really saved us was the heated mattress which was very effective. Without this, we would not have had a good stay in the hotel. In fact, the presence of heated mattress in the hotel rooms was the prime reason for us to select this hotel in the first place !

Our hotel rate included both buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. The food selection was good and the service people were friendly. However, the dining area was not very well heated. We needed to wear sweaters or warm clothing to be comfortable while we were eating the food.

We had a good view of the mountains from our room. In fact, there was quite a bit of snow on the mountains at the time of our visit.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at the hotel. The heated mattresses in the room are definitely a big draw to make your stay comfortable. Also, they do have an elevator to go to the higher floors and this is very helpful if you have heavy luggage. We would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Badrinath.

I had booked triple occupancy deluxe double bedroom for my family from 17-18 May 2024.
I paid 50% advance in April 2024
Upon arrival at Sarovar Badrinath, I was given a Twin Bedroom which was questioned by my family.
After some time a deluxe double room was given with Queen Size Bed.
No toiletries were given
No towel for 3rd guest was given
No 3rd drinking water bottle was given
Upon repeat request, 1 set of toiletries was given.
Dinner was horrible and the restaurant manager deleted 1 dish from bill.
Repeat requests were made late night 10 pm to arrange extra bed that was already pre-booked
I had medicines to be stored in refrigerator, which was not available in room.
Hotel staff offered to store my Ice Packs in deep freezer late night. In the morning these ice packs were found completely melted and not suitable to be used in Ice Box.
We travelled back from Sarovar Badrinath to Noida by own car from 8.30am to 11.30 pm for almost 14 hours without ice packs in our ice box for storing medicines
Over all a bad experience

Sarovar portico has a good name in the hospitality industry. We were traveling to Badrinath and happened to look for a stay at Sarovar Portico at Badrinath at night. The front office service personnel Rakesh Pandey, received me well and patiently answered my questions around the room offerings and the Badrinath temple visit details as well; The service from the room boy at night as well deserves a kudos who transferred our luggages from our car to the room without even a word; Very often. We tend to miss the nice people around us in the fast lane of our lives, however, this time around, wanted to express my gratitude, kudos to these professionals and the Team; Thank you Somesh and Team! I look forward to visiting you folks! ☺️

This hotel is overpriced, the rooms smell musty, the carpets are extremely dirty, they dont vaccum the carpets they sweep it, that is pretty silly. The lift dont work, the wifi doesnt work, the hot water supply is only during limited times, there are other places for sure that have vetter amenities...the only good thing abt the place is the dining area, the people are very nice and very polite, good selection of food...overall a very average place, for that kind of money u can find a better place....

Depressing hotel rooms and service
We were booked as part of our Heritage Helicopter tour.

They took more than 2 hours to allot worst possible rooms at ground floor

Our room has faulty power point which made it difficult to use room heater in the cold room

Maintenance staff struggled for 2 hours , raised their hands . Front desk raised their hands and looked elsewhere

Was told that the room costs Rs10,000. Can not imagine such a depressing room and service costs so much

Suggest to look elsewhere to get better hotel and service and concentrate on Bardinath trip

Jai Shri Badri Narayana .. Comfortable stay. Mr.Ashish Tiwari at front office was very helpful, arranged a room a day before of our reservations on phone.

Food, stay, hospitality at restaurant is applauding. Uttam, Harinder and Jaydeep was very pleasing and good food by chef helped us in releving the tiredness we had after so much of travelling.

Booked Sarovar Portico at Badrinath in November 2021, thinking that we will be getting all the necessary support needed in extreme weather conditions. The temperature in Badrinath was -2 degrees and to our shocking surprise there were no heaters in the room or in the common areas of the entire hotel. All they provided was a bed warmer which wa OK as long as you are in the bed. But getting out of bed, relaxing on the sofa and using the washroom were unimaginably horrifying due to biting cold. The room was almost like a cold storage. The hotel staff flatly refused to provide heaters saying that the carpets could catch fire. It would be stupid to think that a 4 star hotel hasn't heard of oil immersion or induction heaters.
If this was not enough, they switched off the hot water supply at 10 PM - for another stupid reason that they have to "maintain temperature". Brushing after 10 pm with icy cold water wasn't a pleasant experience.
The lift was not working either.
I regret my stay at Sarovar Portico in Badrinath

From what I gather, the hotel is currently closed due to the pandemic. We don't know when they will open. So it is hard to know what the pricing will be when they open. For further queries, I suggest that you visit the website of Sarovar Hotels and write to the email address given there. (For some mysterious reason, TripAdvisor doesn't allow me to specify a website or an email address here because they don't allow the use of special characters in the response !!)
