Staying on and off during the lockdown while working nearby in Tuam. Staff are great, meals excellent and social distancing/restrictions all well observed but don’t cause a major hindrance Looking forward to visiting ‘for real’ when the world comes back to normal
Stayed only one night here and was pleasantly surprised by the standards for a very reasonable price. The room had a double and a large single bed. It was quite large in size. It was immaculately clean. The breakfast was buffet style. I would definitely stay here again
Check in was easy, staff were friendly and helpful both at reception and in the bar. Hotel was very clean, restaurant very spaced out. Food was delicious. Room was clean, tv was good quality. Shop close by, easy parking. FYI if you want to leave restaurant staff a tip you need cash, you can’t add to the bill.
We stayed here during covid-19 restrictions and found the hotel conformed to all covid-19 requirements. The place was spotless and there were loads of sanitizers. The hotel is roomy and airy and big enough to manage distancing. There is good parking. The rooms were a good size and immaculately clean. The room had everything required. We slept well. The hotel is blessed with exceptional staff. They score 10 out of 10 everywhere - the reception, the bar, the dining room, the bedroom. The breakfast is very enjoyable and had everything I needed. I wasn't blown away by the evening meals. Some item on the plate were hot and some very cold and overall the food wasn't great- maybe just unlucky .l would come back again.
We went to the Claregalway Hotel on 23/12 to try out their new afternoon tea. It was, honest to God, amazing. Such good value, such lovely food and especially such great service. It's a really unique Afternoon Tea, not the usual fancy cucumber sandwiches and smoked salmon but mini burgers, spicy chicken wraps (soo nice!) and steak sandwiches as well as piles of delicious desserts. I had brought my Dad and was worried he wouldn't like it because he doesn't like fussy things but even he was really impressed and we were all stuffed by the time we left. We even bought several vouchers as Christmas presents. Thank you very much to our server Michael who was great and serious compliments to the chef Lazlo. Only thing I would say to the hotel is that the actual menu should be advertised because I think loads of people would go for it if they knew it was such "proper" food.…
