Prainha, a beachfront resort, tucked away in a cove with neatly manicured pathways that lead towards the beach and the heart of this unpretentious, pleasantly surprising resort by the sea. "Prainha" meaning little beach in Portuguese is located at Dona Paula. It is only seven kilometers from the city of Panjim. Once here you'll find yourself returning time and time again.

The hotel is in an excellent location with beautiful sea views from the cottage balconies. The restaurant and bar overlook the sea and are beside a very nice swimming pool. The cocktails are average or less than average in quality. The food was good, as was the breakfast. There is no covered walk to the restaurant, which is problematic if it rains. A serious problem is that you can easily hear sounds from neighbouring rooms. We were unlucky to have loud guests who talking till very late into the night kept us awake, and we had to complain to the receptionist, who then requested the guests to keep their sound down.

We try and visit Prainha every year. If you're looking for sea view you cannot get a better deal than this. And the little bay and beach is extremely private with not much foot fall. The beds are the most comfy and the grounds are meticulously kept tidy. The chef is lovely, what nice preparations. We did not need to step out for a single meal. The waiting staff was extremely accomodating,we were travelling with a two year old and I never give her bottles to anyone for washing but we did in an emergency give the bottles for cleaning and wow! they came back sparkling. So many many brownie points for that. whenever I asked for a banana shake it was made propmtly and without sugar, just as I requested for.We were never left waiting for anything for long and this time with an active kid that was very welcome. so a massive Thank you. They light candles on everytable and the restaurant has pool and sea side tables(the best of both the worlds),so if its quiet and romantic that you're after then also you are looking at the best space.though one recommendation would be to avoid weekends in that case. Every room comes with the most amazing Balconies ,and we have a favourite room which is our little slice of privacy, but Im sure all the balconies are equally great. We swam in the pool everday and it comes with lots of kiddie goodies, just ask for them, like balls and floats etc. If you need anything I'm sure any of their staff will go out of their way to help.Sagar and Especially Manjula, without whom our experience will not be the same. She gives us a sense of homecoming whenever we are there. with welcoming smiles and an absolutely accommodating attitude she is just the right girl in the lead. I do look forward to my esspresso next time though ;)

Prainha Resort is a gem of a boutique hotel tucked away amidst lava rocks and abundant foliage. Do ask for a sea view room in the old wing. The rooms are spacious ( we had C11 & C12 ) with private lawns on balconies that overlook a spectacular view of the sea. The restaurant and its chef Peter ( F & B Manager E A D' Mello ) produce a delicious menu . We did not have a meal that was not exceptional. The staff are helpful and courteous. So what is the downside ? No Beach and no WiFi in the room.

2nd visit in two years as I love this property I love it's vibes but don't expect any service. There is no security on the so called beach attached to the property even if stray dogs run behind you you have to save yourself . No body greets you in the premises nor they are eager to provide any service. Food is over the head.prices are higher then any 5 star resort plus they will close the kitchen at 10:45 not even asking for last order . Overall if u wanna go just go for the Goan vibes of the place and don't expect anything else.

"Beautiful location with a private beach feel, but that's where it ends. Food was average, rooms had maintenance issues, and pillows were uncomfortable. Not disability-friendly. Overpriced, but typical for Goa. Go for the view, but be prepared for compromises."

Having stayed in Prainha few years ago I decided to opt for the same resort when I visited goa for a conference in Dona Paula My son accompanied me this time Our initial check in experience was a bit disappointed as the front desk reception staff late in evening were not following covid protocols and also unfortunately the hygiene standards in the standard room allotted were abysmal When we pointed this out the night manager Mr Basu accepted that our issue was genuine and took steps to assuage us and allowed us a better room (partial sea facing) After that the remaining three days were very pleasant -the breakfast is sumptuous and vairied. The beach /sea facing restaurant churns out tasty sea and Goan food at very reasonable prices The pool was open and the gardens and beach added to them charm Overall another good stay experience and thanks to the Restaurant manager,Mr Nanigopal and Mr Basu for accepting and quickly rectifying the issues raised . It’s really a small gem and will always be one of our preferred destinations for stay in Goa .

The location is awesome. Solitude, private beach, breathtaking sunset, quaint rooms .. it's all there. But the service and breakfast spread is quite ordinary. The staff is courteous but inefficient. It's a wedding destination too and there was one on for the days we were there. The staff was overwhelmed and even for basic services we had to ask and call number of times.
These minor irritants make it less appealing and reduce the value for money factor as well. On the other hand if they work it out... it has the potential of being an exotic and royal experience for the price they charge.
Based on my family's experience I give them an average rating where the location surpassed and services failed our expectations.

A mixed feeling about the place... More of a sandwich experience. It started off on a not so good note when we arrived and we're given a room which was not what we booked. The receptionist said that the air con was not working so they upgraded us to a better room. My only request to them was to have informed of this change earlier (through email) It was definitely a bette room. Sea facing, large, clean and comfortable beds. The view of the sea was amazing. That was the good part. Since our train was at night, we requested a late check out and was open to paying for the same room. They said that this was not possible as all rooms were booked. Stuck and on the verge of being roomless and after much hassle, they offered to give one of their standard room on a complementary basis but until 6 pm. We appreciated and accepted their offer but once 6pm arrive, they were impatient to get us out which calls to the room. That sullied the entire stay with the unnecessary chasing us down. There is more to gain than to lose by not breathing down our neck to leave. Overall, the property is lovely. Green space, quiet and peaceful. Food is lovely and staff. Love to be back but hesitant.

I tried to book Prainha for my stay but it was sold out during that time. I booked our stay in Cidade de Goa. However, I ensured that we visit Prainha for dinner or lunch. The restaurant was scenic and on a beautiful private beach adjacent to O pescador. It is located on the Dona Paula jetty that has great opportunity for street shopping. The ambience was perfect. The staff were very goo. Menu offered was amazing. The food was very tasty. They made vegetable for my kids in their expected pattern ((- Mr Edrich D'mello who is the manager of the restaurant was very friendly and took a very personal care of all of us. Rahman is also a nice staff. On the whole, for everyone visiting Goa, visit to this restaurant is highly recommended. Please call them before you reach to check for availablity.

We had booked ourselves into the highly rated O’Pescador only to be told by them at check in that our Harbour Room was not available and they had to move us next door here, in hindsight am glad we moved here. This place was far newer and definitely better maintained than the previous one. Everything worked properly and overall a comfortable stay.

There must be a hotel policy for Unmarried couples, not too sure about that very honestly.
Bikes on rent should be available around the place since there a lot of vendors for vehicles on hire all over Goa.
There are more places to choose from in the Dona Paula area.
