Very basic, just a bed (with anti mosquito net) and a fan, and two hammocks on the balcony, facing the river. I think it's more than enough at a place like Don Det. Pros -Anti mosquito net is provided -Fan in the room -Nice view to the river -2 hammocks on each room's balcony -Restaurant next to the bungalows, allows...

I stayed here for a week. It's nothing super fantastic. Just a bed with a fan. There were no food options while I was there so had to go elsewhere for food. You get what you pay for. $5 for a bungaloo. Nothing fancy.

Being at Vixay's Guesthouse by Nang XAYSITHIDETH an Hermann LEMASSON were the best days of my Laos-trip. A very basic accommodation, but the location and the heartwarming Nurturing hosts have touched me deeply. Nang cooks with passion, indescribably delicious - just cooked with love! My dream is to cook together with her in future. Nang's meals tasted like a star-rated...

Owners have a strange little thing going on which is amusing to watch if you're here for a few days, which you should be. They're friendly and helpful, but most of all personable because of it. Prices for everything are on average with the rest of the island. But food quality wasn't the best, we often took our meals elsewhere...

I didn't stay in the bungalows but I ate and drank here every day. All the accommodation on this island is the exact same but Herman and Nang are the nicest people on Don Det and they make the best fried chicken I tasted in this part of the world, so that's what sets this place apart from the others.

A really great place. The river bungalows have an amazing view of the Mekong where you can relax and read for the entire day, adjacent is a really nice family feel restaurant with good and inexpensive food. The location is very good as well, a few steps from the happy bar and 4 min walk from the main street. The...

When we arrived at Dondet we opted to stay on the sun rise side and then switch to the sun set side. Paid 40,000 kip for a bungalow near the back (they do have mekong view rooms but they were all taken). The room was nice, clean and had a decent mosquito net. It had a great area outside with...

Spent four nights here at 60,000k a night. There are Mekong view and non view bungalows. Rooms are not spectacularly clean and the bed although large had a poor mattress. We had to ask for towels and sheets as there weren't any and the blanket was only a single for our double bed. There's a good mosquito net and very...
