I went to the village in Kumta two years ago, for various reasons. One side effect was, me getting my period maybe once a year since for the past 20 years. The doctors were able to see through my chaos and pinpoint what my body and soul needed. Two weeks in of being there, my body already responded to the love and care and gave me the good news by menstruating. I am happy to report that i had my period every month the past two years since then. The impact my overall experience had on my daily life is still lingering and sometimes i can hardly grasp the blessings i recieved. Sending you my gratitude and appreciation once more.
After a beautiful stay there, I suffer still from the results of the treatment. After 5 month I still didn't recover from the wrong thyroid treatment. If you have just minor problems or just want to do a panchakarma - go for it. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people. If you have severe problems, don't go there. Actually I didn't go there because of the thyroid - but that was mentioned to be MY problem. I was naiv enough to trust ayurveda possibilities. And I still suffer, as I said. Fatigue, hair loss (one third), depression, concentration problems. If I wouldn't have taken the things in my hand, I would have probably fallen into Koma or would have heart problems or even would be dead. It was a dangerous situation said my doctor in Germany. She couldn’t believe the Ayurvedic advise was that irresponsible. But well, it was. So go there, but take care what you are doing! Although I wrote to the director, I never got any reply, nor an apology, neither a refund!…
My second trip to India for Ayurvedic treatment, this time 28 days in Kumta at Ayurveda Yoga Village, sister company of the centre in Udayagiri where I went last year. Both places are heaven on earth. Kumta is located at the Arabian Sea, the retreat is located on a heavenly beach, you hear the waves of the sea in your own cabin. Dr Devi listens carefully and finetunes treatments, medicines and food accordingly. The therapists are very people-oriented persons and take their job at heart. Also the pharmacists are great and follow every individual to ensure timely consumption of medicines. Kitchen, house, admin and all other staff are all doing their utmost to take care of the residents. For people that are stressed and want to take time to take care of themselves the Ayurvedic treatments are a real bliss. I am happy to stand on my feet again, better grounded, completely energized and really grateful for this experience. …
I have returned home calm and relaxed after two weeks at AYV. The retreat offers an amazing ocean front location (great walks on the beach, including sights of a dolphin!!), authentic Ayurvedic customized cuizine, traditional Ayurvedic treatments personalized by the wonderful Dr. Athul, and spiritual activities, such as yoga, puja and meditations. Dr. Athul was very attentive, patient, and informative- always with a smile. The staff, including the cleaning ladies, the treatment ladies, the kitchen staff, the office, the organic farmers, the yoga teachers and the priests/puja hosts- all of them are exceptionally dedicated to the guests and the planet. I will definitely return!
Just came back from a two week stay at Ayurveda Yoga Village in Kumta, India. I wish I could stay longer. This place is amazing. I immersed myself completely in the Ayurveda experience. From body treatments to spiritual practice, special food that was tailored for my needs, yoga and daily doctor consultation. All was done professionally and with the warmest intention and smile. Accommodation is very simple but clean and the location by the beach is beautiful and so relaxing. If you really want to make a change in your well being, this is the place to go to. Thank you Ajith, Dr. Athul, Ganapati, Vinesh, Renjeev, Savita, Chetana and all the amazing team at AYV. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you again next year. Orna
