Really nice rooms. Great views looking out over the surrounding countryside. Food was VERY ordinary, especially breakfast and you couldn't find anyone to serve you a coffee without knocking on the door to the kitchen. The place would rate 4-stars but for the food and breakfast service as the rooms are very nice.

We booked for three nights. On the first night I asked the receptionist to check the air conditioning in our room because although it made some noise it didn't seem to be working properly. She told me it would take some time for the air to become cold. The night was horrible with +30ºC in the room. On the next... More

I have been there with my business partner for visiting Sicily. Nice location with outstanding view to Etna and Aeolian islands. Rooms very comfortable and very friendly and staff. Food and restaurant very classy and good. further facilities available as spa and trekking opportunities.

We stayed here for two nights on a driving holiday package around Sicily. This was the worst hotel by far. Yes the view is wonderful and it's close to a very pretty village however that is all it has to offer and views can be had elsewhere. Service was very poor, room pretty average with very little toiletries. The spa... More

My Mum and I wanted to have a holiday in Italy and were lucky enough to find a Groupon deal for this hotel. We both needed relaxation, good food/wine and a bit of cultural interest to keep us happy. Hotel Federico was the perfect base for us, we loved the neo-medieval feel of the architecture and decor (mirroring the charming... More

We found this hotel to be a lovely building in a lovely area with a nice size room but the hotel was lacking in soul. We enjoy the peace and the quiet but we would have liked a little atmosphere. The rooms were not particularly clean. The beds are nicely made and the towels are changed daily but the carpets... More

We were in this hotel during our Sicily trip 'Cultural & natural Highlights of Sicily' (Genius Loci Travel). This hotel really is a hidden pearl: located near the unknown small city of Montalbano Elicona, halfway between the Mediterranean Sea and the impressive Mount Etna, a beautiful village, yet undiscovered by mass tourism. Already the visit to its amazing castle and... More

“We had a back room facing the car park but also the ascending mountain Nebrodi park (with grazing horses), we did enquire about upgrading to the front but there was no availability. In view of previous comments maybe this was best because it was perfectly quiet and we enjoyed the beautiful views during breakfast/evening drinks and meals.”
