Our first impressions were good - the lakeside setting is nice and the entrance and lounge area of the hotel was stylish but our room was absolutely dreadful. The decor of the room was more like a 1970s guest house than a modern hotel. The walls were woodchip paper painted orange and the bathroom was awful with chipped tiles, dirty...

The hotel is set on a beautiful lake and the views are lovely ...the staff are pleasant and friendly so our welcome was perfect until we got to our room which was dull, dismal and extremely tired ..Luckily we had booked in for dinner which was wonderful, excellent service, scrumptious food and the staff were outstanding .The next morning we...

When your first glass of wine, ordered, has clearly come from a bottle that has been open far too long, the replacement is worse, and the staff refuse to allow you to buy a full, unopened bottle, because the bar, "isn't allowed to", only the restaurant can sell wine by the bottle....... It is not a good start! It didn't...

We stopped here after a long day's drive down from Calais, and were so pleased we found this hotel. Beautiful lakeside view, just so tranquil as the sun was going down, plus a lovely meal in their gourmet restaurant. What more could we want? We'd love to return in 2016, but alas they're already fully booked for the night we'll...

Great hotel with nice well equipped rooms (we paid a bit more for a lake view) secure parking for motorbikes, stunning location on the lake with easy access to main roads but very quiet and few tourists, lovely lakeside walks. Lots were swimming in the lake and taking row boats out. The restaurant served a superb meal at reasonable prices...

Nantua is a pretty convenient location for a stop, for example, if you're returning from Italy to England - five minutes or so off the motorway and alongside a pretty lake. The hotel is well set up with a lovely view, good parking and obviously copes well with a lot of visitors in transit. Its restaurant is ample, with plenty...

Great view of the lake from the dining room which has had a make over two years ago and bedrooms next on make over agenda . The meal in the restaurant was also much improved I enjoyed my 48 euros set menu and just about managed the 4 courses and coffee!

We really lucked out finding a room at the Hôtel l'Embarcadadére and would gladly have extended our stay for as long as possible but it is booked up. The expansive view is of Lac Du Nantau from the rooms as well as the dining area. The dining is exquisite!

I stayed in the area for busniess and the hotel is very convenient. What you definitely is a rental car. You get there from Geneva airport in approximately one hour. The hotel appears modern, and part of it has been renewed, but the rooms itself are still somewhat old. Although this is not a problem, it is just comparing the...

The hotel is weird. Architecturally pretty cool giving great views of the beautiful lake. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The bedrooms on the ground floor are grim like a U.S. Motel but then they have a practically silver service dining room! My top tip is take the cheap menu. Not the gastronomic one.
